Good find by bubba. I see that Taylor Jones commented, so they are obviously in contact.

Nice to read Adam's article...It certainly is an encouraging piece for Beaver Nation, and it really reinforces our own perceptions of the program and our belief in it. And, it's great to see a writer who puts in the time and effort required to assemble an up close and personal article like this one...
Sounds like Goforth is the real deal and I hope the Beavs can reel her in.... My guess is that her decision is going to be greatly influenced by her parent's perception of the program...It's never easy to send your super-star kid across the country for 4 years...Losing the closeness, the togetherness, the shared experiences, and the hands-on parenting is really hard for many families.... True, you can watch your daughter play on TV - but, as we all know from our time in Gill, nothing beats the live, in-person game experience...So the Beavs likely will have an uphill battle springing Goforth all the way to Oregon...
The Beavs currently have no player on their roster as far away from home as Goforth would be if she came to Corvallis ....But as the recruitment of Kennedy Brown and Taylor Jones demonstrate, the Beavs are now a national program with a respected name and an admired culture....
And we are recruiting like it....
GO BEAVS !!

Internationally is slightly different. One could still even say Aquino was the furthest recruit because she was living in New Jersey when she verbally committed. Regardless, the point @41150 more or less seemed to be making was the Beavs recruiting is no longer limited to the PNW, and after stretching all the way to Texas and Kansas for a pair of 5*, we are expanding even further.

Sasha has been one of my favorite targets for 2020 for a while.....maybe my favorite. I just think she fits the Beaver style and culture. Yes, there may be more talented players the Beavers are looking at (HLV, Bueckers, Clark, etc), but there is something about Sasha that just says 'Oregon State' to me.

We have a better chance of getting Sasha plus one of the above vs 2 of the above, no?

I agree that Sasha seemingly encompasses much of what makes up an OSU player. Namely, I see a whole lot of Katie McWilliams in her. Both are rare players because they are 6’1”/6’2” guards and they have long, lanky frames. Both are also really good shooters and great defenders. I’ve seen pictures when she is defending Hailey Van Lith, Ashley Owusu, and Jordan Horston. Clearly her coach matches her up with the opponents best player, similar to what Rueck does with Katie. There will be a good bit of playing time open when she would arrive on campus as a freshman, and a whole lot from sophomore and forward. Hopefully she can overlook the distance factor and look at OSU as a home away from home.

I feel much better about Van Lith and Clark, but I doubt both would be interested in attending the same school, as both are PGs. Van Lith or Clark, Goforth, and Daniels or Ware would be an amazing class.

My gut feeling is that we get Goforth, Van Lith, and one other in the 2020 class. Should that happen, we'll have 3 5 stars as sophomores (Aquino, Jones, and Brown), 2 as freshmen, and 2 more (Slocum and Corosdale) as seniors. That wouldn't suck.

YIIIIKES....I really screwed that one up - saying that no player on the roster is as far away from home as Goforth would be.... Must have had valium in my coffee yesterday....Writing from memory without fact checking is a total no-no. Can't believe I did that.... Thanks to everyone for pointing out that I didn't get my information straight... The thumping sound in the background is me banging my head against the wall....
GO BEAVS !!

Home visit from OSU coaches recently. Official visit coming in early May which will apparently be the only one she takes. Her decision is down to OSU and Arkansas. Commitment to one of the two of them later in May. That's the word.

I like our chances if she wants to step into a solid program.
4 sweet 16's in a row or going to the wnit.
