Your team battled and scrapped, you should be proud of them! Arkansas has a great young core and will be tough next year. Arkansas will not likely have the success of this season next year. The pitching staff will be young and inexperienced although as usual there are some promising freshmen that could have started for a lot of teams as freshmen this year. I think 11 players went drafted and all but a couple are going. Arkansas will actually in all likelyhood only return 3 fielders. This picture below is the only thing Razorback fans will remember forever. Half of us won't even remember who we played. All we will remember is that we platter served another team up with a national championship trophy. Carson Shaddy was the best player on your team. Beavers owe him a thank you. We'll take it anyway we can get it has never rang louder. Just being real> Hilarious video! Well, for us anyway. Not sure why your 2nd baseman decided to be Johnny Hero and fly in there at Mach II, bumping the 1st baseman and confusing everyone, but I’m glad he did. I also actually feel bad for him at the same time.

Even if it was his fault that the ball was not caught, your pitcher also made mistakes that cost the game. And then there were eight other players on the team that could have knocked in some runs in game 3 but didn't. Besides, we all know that the best player on the Beaver team is whoever is wearing Orange and Black (i.e., the whole dam team!).

You gave the Beavers another chance, is all. The missed popup did not move Grenier to first base, or score Clayton. What followed that night, and the next night, was all earned. Could not agree more what followed that night, and the next night, was all earned. From a multidecade Razorback baseball fan's perspective though, there should have been no next night. That ball was about to be caught by Gates. Easy out. He had the bead on it and was 98% under it with his glove up already. Carson Shaddy ran in and blew it up. A fan may get that with that with an underclass player, but Shaddy was a 5th year senior. If you watch the play, it's almost like he intentionally blew it up. He didn't even know where the ball was evidently because he ran 3 steps past it. Again, just an average Razorback fan's perspective.

The only thing that cost Arkansas the game was that play. Heck, just turn on the sports shows and the analysts are saying the same thing. Blunt truth.

The foul ball was one play. Don't drag Shaddy in with your stuff. Shaddy was going 100%. All gas no brake. Why isn't Cronin the goat? He gave up a 2 strike single and a bomb. Cronin was tiring and over throwing in the 9th. Why? Because his pitch count was pretty high over 2 games. Because the Beavers drove up his pitch count over the 2 games. And probably his adrenaline was spiked with 2 outs
Why isn't the RF the goat. Maybe he should have called off everyone loud and clear.
It's a team game and you win or lose as a team

He needs all the support he can get. I've heard multiple sources say that he was instrumental in getting to the finals, I hope he remembers those plays and games. It would be truly sad if a muffed catch ends up defining him.

Shaddie has said that in the Roar of the crowd he couldn't hear anybody calling the ball so that may have played a big part in how it ended up. But no matter what giving the Beavers a second chance was a big mistake and it paid off for us.

Trying to be the hero I think.

. . . Congratulate Beaver Nation on their National Championship.
The way it happened was about as bitter as it could have been; everyone knows how baseball's version of "life and death" was in the balance at the end of Wednesday's game. Yes, the baseball Gods were smiling on them in that instant. But to their credit, OSU took advantage of the last second reprieve to step up and capture an improbable win.
Thursday, however, was all OSU. There can be speculation on why that was, but it really doesn't matter. The Beavers dominated that game and are deserving National Champions. It will be interesting to see if that was a one-off miracle for Abel, or it he's a great pitcher in MLB. He sure looked the part yesterday.
Again, congratulations.
It was a great series between the two teams that I honestly felt were the best in America. I knew it would go three games, but after all of the crazy stuff that happened prior to the 9th inning of game 2, I feared that it was only going to go two. With that incredible reprieve, the Beavs definitely determined not to waste the opportunity. The hogs had a lot of young kids contribute and will be really good again next year. The Beavs are losing a lot of experience and talent but should be in the mix again next year, though some guys will need to step up. Given the way that they typically do, why don’t the Beavers and Hogs just plan to connect up in Omaha next year? Not always pretty, but good, tough baseball!

It worked well for us against North Carolina in 06 & 07, why not Arkansas in 18 & 19?

I really don't blame him, he wasn't trying to do it all. If you're out there in the field and you are a player with a capital p, you want the ball to come to you you want to make that out you want to not to show off or not to take over but because if you don't have that kind of focus it can go terribly wrong. I don't blame him for making the effort and I think the other two guys are just as much at fault because they should have especially the Outfielder should have Takin Over.
