. . . Congratulate Beaver Nation on their National Championship.
The way it happened was about as bitter as it could have been; everyone knows how baseball's version of "life and death" was in the balance at the end of Wednesday's game. Yes, the baseball Gods were smiling on them in that instant. But to their credit, OSU took advantage of the last second reprieve to step up and capture an improbable win.
Thursday, however, was all OSU. There can be speculation on why that was, but it really doesn't matter. The Beavers dominated that game and are deserving National Champions. It will be interesting to see if that was a one-off miracle for Abel, or it he's a great pitcher in MLB. He sure looked the part yesterday.
Again, congratulations.

Thank you! Good luck to the Razorbacks (one of the cooler mascots in college sports) in the future!

[ Thanks- very classy! Great season you guys had. Outstanding competition. Very much hope to see you guys in Omaha and on the other side of the brackets!!! Even though most of us are not SEC fans, I would suspect many including myself will root for the hogs in any game other than versus the Beavs.

Thanks. Very classy. I expect to see both Arkansas and Oregon State in Omaha next year.

I do not know what you guys did to deserve such a gut-punch, but I honestly felt really bad for you all. There are plenty of fan bases that I would have though deserved it, but y'all certainly aren't one of them. I really do want to see you get your title - at somebody else's expense of course Congrats on an amazing season regardless, and I love how well you all supported this team and college baseball in general. You all made it for an awesome environment when the Hogs were making plays! You may have had few guys drop the ball, but you fans definitely did not!

Honestly, you would probably feel worse if Arkansas had been the better team in this series but i think all agree that Oregon State was a little stronger. Yeah your team blew it but it would have been kind of a stolen natty. NOT THAT THAT WOULD HAVE MATTERED IN THE SLIGHTEST! I get it. its tough. It's been good to learn about the Arkansas fan base through this series. Not a bad group but it seems y'all fancy yourselves as snakebit. In the pac 12 we would just say you "couged" it. LOL

Any time you feel down, just go back to the 1978 Orange Bowl. Arkansas 31 Oklahoma 6. The Razorbacks were huge underdogs and opened the biggest can of whoopass possible on the Sooners.
Whenever I want to feel better about the Beavs, the 2001 Fiesta Bowl does it for me!
Hope you had a safe trip home.

The Beaver coaches think Abel is the latter. Later in the season when he started to locate his pitches, he showed that he has a most nasty curve and change to go with a pretty good fastball. If you noticed, when he located the curve, batters knees buckled. Change up suckered batters into a home run swing. Keep in mind, he is a true freshman.

During the broadcast, ESPN attributed this quote to Abel when asked by Casey as to how he was doing: "I'm just getting started!". Right about now that sounds as ominous to the opponent as "I'll be back!". Abel had his break-out game on the biggest stage possible for a college player to have, Game 3 of the CWS against a team which had not been shut out all season. Hope to see Abel in MLB and see how he does for he is one tough cookie physically and mentally.

The pitching staff will be young and inexperienced although as usual there are some promising freshmen that could have started for a lot of teams as freshmen this year. I think 11 players went drafted and all but a couple are going. Arkansas will actually in all likelyhood only return 3 fielders. This picture below is the only thing Razorback fans will remember forever. Half of us won't even remember who we played. All we will remember is that we platter served another team up with a national championship trophy. Carson Shaddy was the best player on your team. Beavers owe him a thank you. We'll take it anyway we can get it has never rang louder. Just being real>

You gave the Beavers another chance, is all. The missed popup did not move Grenier to first base, or score Clayton. What followed that night, and the next night, was all earned.

It was said over and over during the post season that you can't give the Beavers so much as an extra out. Arkansas did just that and the boys in orange and black made them pay for it.
