What is this “pitch limit” that you speak of with such certitude? Well..... They don't let you throw any more pitches after the 3rd out in the 9th inning.... (if you have the lead and the other team fails to score at their turn at bat, or someone has an at-bat that results in the winning run scoring in the bottom of the 9th )

After he worked out of the bases loaded mess in the third (?) Abel found an amazing groove It was hypnotic to see. His motion was so unlabored. It looked like he was fly fishing on a montana stream and not even trying all that hard to catch anything. Pulling him there would seem like interrupting DaVinci during the MonaLisa. But sorry. He was way over the pitch limit and that's why they pay people to make tough decisions. Same reason you follow the concussion protocol even when a kid says he's fine and is having a career game. Maybe it should be a trainer's decision. Also by the 7th inning Arkansas hitters were so demoralized I think beavs could have put Luke or Jake in and made that lead hold up. Sure this is all second guessing but the Beav coaches did what they did and won the whole enchilada. Serious quetion: Does anybody think the coaches or Jake regret how it went down or are now worrying about long term effects? What is this “pitch limit” that you speak of with such certitude? You are right There is no pitch limit. So this- His arm had performed an extraordinary number of high velocity throws in multiple sessions in just a few days. His arm was subjected to over 250 throws in the Championship series alone, most of these on much less than full rest, if you believe full rest is even a thing.
