A few Pac-12 things: First off Kayla Overbeck, a junior transfer from Vanderbilt, was granted immediate eligibility at USC. Gives them a much needed post presence despite being undersized at 6’1”. They also have Mariya Moore, older sister of Minyon Moore, who will be eligible after transferring from Louisville. They will be very talented this year, but we will have to see if all this talent can translate into wins. Second off, Oregon has an official visitor this weekend, Kaelynn Satterfield a 6’0” wing from NY ranked #39. What is interesting about this is that they did not make her top 5. UO likes to do this kinda stuff They probably offered mom and dad a no limit free NIKE gift card.

Also, on the uo visitor - doesn't the NCAA limit the number of official visits a recruit can take? If so, while uo must like to invite people that they are not on the top 5 of, the visitor must have some level of passing interest in the program as well (or maybe all her other choices are within easy travel and she can do "unofficial" visit to those schools. Thanks for the updates. Go Beavers!

Overbeck’s situation is very interesting. I have heard nothing about why she may have been granted hardship waiver. Potentially a family thing that caused her to move closer to home (went to HS right near LA). Definitely interesting. I think the NCAA is very inconsistent when it comes to granting immdeiate eligibility. Would have been nice to have Destiny last year, but at the same time would be tough to lose a class of Tudor, Pivec, and Slocum.

Anyone know if we recruited Alyson Miura? 5-8 PG went to same HS as Aleah Goodman.
Released her final 5 today of Oregon, Washington, USC, Boise State, and UC Davis. Hope we didn’t recruit her. Would hate to see us not be in her final 5 if we did.

The Beavs have at least one potential recruit on campus this weekend. She has been mentioned on this board previously. Jazmin Shelley, a 5'9" point guard from Australia, has been spotted on campus with what looked to be the entire OSU WBB team. Shelley has roomed with Jasmine Simmons in the past. Shelley apparently has visited Nebraska already and has Oregon and South Carolina among her suitors.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like there is some stiff competition for her, hopefully we will come out on top.

bhf - good find.....I'm really glad to see Shelley finally land on campus... It has been speculated here that she would take an OSU visit in Sept. - so it's great to see it come to be..... Shelley is obviously is a top flight talent - the schools chasing her provide the proof....
Not sure how to figure how much the Beavs really need her, especially with our current collection of guard talent, and with the hot-shot from Cashmere eligible to sign about this time next year...
So, next on the visitor's list probably is Kennedy Brown from Kansas..Interesting times for OSU WBB!! Excellent talent is finding its way to Corvallis.
GO BEAVS....

I believe Texas is also very high on Shelley, but not 100% on that. I agree that a year of Tudor, Pivec, Goodman, Slocum, Simmons, and Shelley may be a lot, but Goodman, Slocum, Simmons, Shelley, and Van Lith would be a great core group of guards. Shelley is likely as good as most of the top flight guards in the 2019 class. Don’t be fooled by her lack of rankings

She is saving the best for last. If not us then I hope Oklahoma gets her, she is not a player I'd want to face a couple times a year.
She does seem like a perfect fit to be a beaver. Let's not forget that she has a good friend already committed, I hope that counts for something.

Anyone know anything about how Shelley’s visit went? Nothing on twitter or Shelley’s or Simmon’s instagrams. Hopefully she had a great visit! Would hate to see another Aussie go to waste at tsdtr

At least one of the two wised up and left. Two of the girls that transferred out were important players, without them the *ucks will have a more difficult run in 2019 tournament. They are down to ten players, the lack of depth hurt us last year with only ten.

An interesting Tweet from Raoul below that notes that of 34 top Class of 2019 female basketball players not yet committed, a total of nine have Louisville on their "finalist" lists and seven have South Carolina on their "finalist" lists. Over recruiting by those two schools?
I guess that is how they get it done. Once those two powers have handed out (and received verbal commitments for) the 3-5 scholarships available among the 15-20 players that they may have verbally offered, there may not be a scholarship left for a player who is expecting to take an official visit to that college. Players that wait too long to make a verbal commitment may have to look elsewhere if the verbally promised scholarship is no longer available. That is the nature of the recruiting business for many colleges.

JaQuaya Miller 6-3 F/C (Kentridge, WA) has committed to Washington. Really big commitment for UW. #40PN. I think I read she had an offer from every school or nearly every school in the PAC, but not sure to what extent we recruited her with Jones, Brown, Daniels, and Brink all in 2019/20. She flew under the radar quite a bit was once a top prospect for ESPN too.

UCLA has picked up a commitment from a 6-2 Canadian wing.
USC has added Oregonian Alyson Miura to its 2019 class. Seems like they are changing how they recruit. She and Madison Campbell aren’t they typical players the used to recruit
