Anyone who saw the updated Hoopgurlz 2020 Terrific 25 will have noticed the new No. 1 hails from Oregon, Cameron Brink. Do we have a good shot at her. Also Van Lith out of Washington is at No. 3 and I’m sure SR would love her as Destiny’s successor. Any shot at either of these recruits?

ProspectsNation has Hailey Van Lith as their overall No. 1 and No. 1 PG, while Cameron Brink is their overall No. 5 and No.1 forward.
I would assume Rueck is recruiting both PNW gals very heavily.

Last year Cameron and her family attended some games but I didn't notice them this year. I'm not saying they didn't attend.

I saw them a couple times. I hope that bodes well for us. She seems to be a high character girl, places her relationship with her high school team mates over her own personal gains. A real team first player.

From what I have read and heard it sounds like a Stanford UConn battle for Brink. Can't blame her for those choices. A world class university or the most legendary program/coach in women's college sports.

If I was betting money in Vegas. I would put a bet on CB going to Stanford and a bet that HVL will be going to UCONN

Last September I was at a volleyball tourney hosted by Southridge. My daughter, who was playing at the tourney, told me everyone was saying it was Stanford. However, that was about a fourth hand rumor so take it with a pound of salt.

I'm going with Oregon State or Oregon and would be happy with either choice - need to keep the local phenoms at home to sustain elite status. Long ago I remember some kind of a Southridge/Rueck connection that involved George Fox and an assistant of his. Can't remember.
Lose out on a generational athlete, especially when your 2 schools are already nationally prominent, would be a huge setback for the state.and the programs' future

Freshman, I respectfully disagree with your above post.
The odds of us getting a serious look from a generational athlete who is being courted by the U-Conn's of the world are very long indeed
However, what OSU can do is promote the total team concept and individual player development while on campus that has lead to tremendous success for the program.
All the "huge setbacks" that you refer to when OSU does not land the supposed "stars" has certainly not caused the program to struggle since Coach Rueck has been at the helm.

Most women, when offered by Stanford, choose Stanford, no matter the circumstances. We are never going to win many recruiting wars with Stanford, at least as long as Tara is there.

That quote above that includes "at least as long as Tara is there" has some truth to it. Stanford women's basketball recruits now have to picture how the Stanford program will fare without Tara being there the entire duration of their collegiate careers. One season fairly soon, the Stanford head coaching reins will have to be handed off to Associate Head Coach Kate Paye. Stanford recruits these days must realize that Tara will coach as long as she wants to and that "want to" may be one or two more years of their college experience.
