Furd vs AZ exciting late game
Tied 3-3. B8 Az goes up 3 runs on an inside the park HR. 6-3 right? Hang on time. Furd scores 5 T9 to go up 8-6. Highlight bases loaded double to plate 3. Az gets 2 in the B9 to make it closer. Nick Quintana flys out B9 with men in scoring position.....but he's a great hitter
Az catcher goes out early after a hard foul ball into his mask. Rocked him back on his haunches
Final Stanford 8 Az 7
Final UCLA 19 USC 2
Final Cal 5 UW 2
Final ASU 15 Utah 7
Final Cougs 11 Santa Clara 3
Final Oregon State 12 tsdtr 5

Looks like UCLA scored a couple of touchdowns while USC just managed a safety in that game.

Got no help from either AZ or USC, 0-6. Really? not even one stupid win? Yeah, Az could have helped us with 1 W. Last night was their day in the sunshine. Up 2 going into the 9th. But Stanford is good. Tim Tawa got several hits today. I was in & out but think 4 hits. The first baseman (44) looks like a stud. Crowd was booing him pretty good and he fed on it. He made an awkward slide into 3B and Quintano Saturday. Benches came out I think. He had a big hit last night too. He's a Frosh too along w/Tawa Today UW beat Cal UCLA beat SC Stanford beat UA ASU beat Utah WSU beat Santa Clara Go look up the scores yerself

Got no help from either AZ or USC, 0-6. Really? not even one stupid win? Taylor Megill was already beyond his season high pitch count entering the 9th, and the coach was hesitant in bringing in Zack Stone, the would have been Sunday starter.

Got no help from either AZ or USC, 0-6. Really? not even one stupid win? What I do like is that we sit in a good spot to impact our position directly, with series coming up against both. Both UCLA and furd come to Corvallis. Mission #1 is to win every series remaining, hopefully sweeping 2 or 3, but most importantly winning the series in each case. If we win them all and sweep 2 or 3, we have a great likelihood, IMO, of winning the conference title and getting a national seed. Given how the Cardinal is playing, we’ll probably need to go 12-3 to win the conference. I feel like if we were to get edged out for the title, we’re probably still a national seed provided we beat everyone else and don’t get swept by furd. However, with the wonderful exception of 2007, history has shown that we will do well to not count on the committee to do us any favors.

Stanford seems to be leading a charmed life to this point, especially with their win last Saturday. It will take great play and some good fortune to catch them in the standings.

Stanford seems to be leading a charmed life to this point, especially with their win last Saturday. It will take great play and some good fortune to catch them in the standings. They seem to have some secret sauce going on. The announcers put up a graphic about Stanford's BA in the late innings. .349 iirc. Other good things as well. Now maybe that is getting into the opponents bullpen. Which is why OS tries to go deep in the count to punch up starter's pitch count. Or maybe they are just focused late. Or maybe it's confidence after doing it several times. Kind of like 56-6 last year. Walk off strike out vs Az last year??? coukoo. Couldn't happen. I was really hoping Az could have got one from Stanford. We are 2 back now. That way if we won the series we could move ahead of them.

Stanfords a good club this year. Plain and simple . And their Friday night guy is a freshman.

Stanford down 4-3 to Cal in the bottom of the 8th. Will it be another case of the cardiac kids at Stanford?

Easy to get those Stanford pitchers confused. Stanford's ace and their Friday night guy is RHP Tristen Beck (6-4, 190). He's a Junior from Corona, CA. and is 5-2 on the season with 52 2/3 IP. He is projected to be an early round MLB Draft selection in June.
His little brother, RHP Brendan Beck (6-2, 190) is a touted Freshman with a 5-0 record and 37 1/3 IP.
Along with Chris Bubic, both Becks are excellent pitchers but Tristen is the Friday night starter this year.

I only know UTRGV because I'm a gambling degenerate. Xavier McDaniel's son has played for them (basketball) the last two years. UT Brownsville and UT Pan American merged to form UT Rio Grande Valley in 2015. They could not agree on colors so they kept the two school's colors, UTPA (green and orange) and UTB (blue and gold). I see on their website now they list blue, green, orange and with a grey accent, but gold is still on their logo.

Andy Atwood transferred to UTRGV but is sitting this year out. UTRGV's new baseball coach was a mentor of his.
