What is the news out of spokan? Warren made a weird comment at the end of the broadcast but didnt explain? He had some texts from Mike Parker. There was an active shooter in the area he was eating dinner. Last Warren heard from Parker the shooter was arrested. Edit: Turns out there was no shooter. Very confusing news stories coming from Spokane about the incident. Apparently a weapon was displayed but no shooting. |

Jon might agree that calling baseball games is not his forte. However, it is challenging this time of year to find broadcasters that 1) are good at calling baseball and 2) are available. With basketball season still going strong, other winter sports finishing up, and spring sports starting, broadcasters are at a premium for the next few weeks. Mike's strongest suit is calling baseball which makes other broadcasters seem to be worse than they are. Another option would be not to broadcast games until Mike is done with hoops.

You do realize that Jon gets paid for this work? It is not a volunteer position. When one is paid to do a job, a certain level of competency can be expected. The better option is simply to follow Gametracker (it is more accurate). It's kind of like watching the OSU-UW basketball game Thursday with Bill Walton. I just turned off the sound.

Sure, he’s getting paid, but it’s not much. We’re certainly not going to pull Vin Scully out of retirement, so I’m not sure what you want. I give Jon credit for hanging in there and trying to get better despite the online criticism. |

Jon is miles better than when he started last year. He is really helped by a sidekick in the booth. aka someone knowledgable about baseball. He will ask BJW or Hank how to score a FC. LOL
Last night was funny. He totally blew Rutschman big hit to drive in 2 runs. He thought it was a HR. Even BJW said he lost the flight of the ball. Then between innings he talking to Jeff City and says don't use that clip. He had to relent since it was the GWRBI. LOL
