I don't but I'd bet the house, the farm and the and the grandkids that it was a he, not a she. Based on my attendance at thousands of athletic events over many decades and observing verbally abusive fans. Are there verbally abusive female fans to the extent of getting banned for multiple games? Sure but in my experience they are few and far between. My experience is also that women are far less likely to verbally abuse women athletes than men are. The percentage of women who verbally abuse at sporting events - small The percentage of women who verbally abuse women athletes at sporting events - tiny. Actually the most abusive fan on a consistent basis is female, older, sits courtside right across from our bench. She talks to opposing players and officials all game long. Actually went 10' onto the court the SC game. She's quite the embarrassment... BEAVER students have complained about her... never have seen her admonished. I guess we’ll have to see if she’s missing from her courtside seat if OSU gets first round NCAA games. If not we’ll have to wait until next year to find out.

I'm very certain that all the "fans" who commented on public forums by trashing fans of Oregon State, the residents of Corvallis, and even the state of Oregon will read the findings and quickly rescind their derogatory remarks. Yeah right.

It’s impossible to tell through the written word whether I’m being melodramatic or not. But just for you, I’m not. Hope that helps.

That's an absolutely comical ASSumption, on your part. I'll bet even money it's just as likely a "she." I'm glad I made you laugh.

That's not the same degree of coverage and will disappear way down the page after one day. Also many people only read the story headline, so that one looks like it only reinforces the earlier allegation by calling the comments "derogatory." So hard to please.

Au contrair, mon frere...ever been to a collegiate Softball game? I've heard things that would make a sailor blush. Not that there's anything wrong with sailors, salty language or softball players...each has their place and purpose. That said, there are lines in the sand (and in the stands) that should not be crossed.

The only people that could have heard me were the fellow nose-bleeders. Now baseball was a different story. Most taunts were attempts at humor, but if any opposing player or coach turned their head and gave us a hint of recognition it turned ugly quickly.

Yeah right. Haters gonna hate. I think the full quote from The Interview is: “They're just peanut butter and jealous! Haters gonna hate, and ain't-ers gonna ain't.” -- James Franco How relevant it is to our discussion, seeing the full context!
