And that young pitcher is Luke Heimlich. I hope he returns and leads the Beavers as their Ace pitcher to Omaha. If the F%#*en Oregonian reporters hadn't have gotten involved of what happen in another state which Luke paid his full debt in, then the Beavers might have faced Florida and the world series! IMO lukw paid his debt and Should not be reminded, hazzed or pestered of his past, let the boy play and lead his team to victory!

The Beavs scored two runs total in the two games they lost in Omaha, but you keep banging that drum that the fact we didn't have Luke Heimlich on the roster was the reason we lost.
If the Oregonian hadn't done this, if the cops hadn't done that, if........
IF LUKE HEIMLICH HADN'T MOLESTED A KINDERGARTNER. REPEATEDLY. End of discussion.

If the incident was never brought up by the oregonian Luke would have been with the team helping them win. Also to add on, I hope Luke plays this year on the team, he's a great pitcher!

If he has followed the directives of the judicial system to the extent that his record could be expunged (i'm still uncertain if that did indeed happen in 8/2017, as it was potentially eligible for) then as far as I'm concerned he deserves a fresh start. Humans are not defined for life by what they did as 15 year olds.

I am certainly conflicted on this subject. I am pretty sure the kid "and he is a kid" has been through a lot himself over this incident/t's. I am equally if not more so concerned about the young relative that was involved.
Thinking this is an issue that Luke will have to deal with all of his life. I think his actions last year at the time it came out were the right actions and he should be commended. However; he might never have had to make that decision if he had followed the rules to begin with, at least from what I read. I hope he gets to play again and make things right for himself and the team and I hope the child involved is given all the support in the world. My major problem with this entire issue is the age of the person responsible. 15 is just a baby also, lets try to give the kid a second chance, from what I know there has been no new occurrences, if there ever is, like I said before this will follow him the rest of his life.

There’s no legal reason he can’t play at this point. He’s earned the right to be on the hill as our ace this year, based on what he did on the hill last year. So I’m w Pat Casey on this one. If you don’t like it, email Pat and see if he cares.
And the Oregonian did flat out lie about him breaking any laws since he’s done his time w the original offense. Because he didn’t.

As usual, Kerry Eggers serves to highlight how low the quality of the state's largest newspaper has fallen.

This kind of news isn't sensational enough to sell newspapers or get attention on ESPN or all of the internet media outlets.
Sadly, it is full of boring old facts from the result of intense research.
What kind of dinosaur is this "Kerry Eggers"?

This story by Eggers says all that needs to be said. The Oregonian should never be read or linked by any true Beaver fan.

Honestly this article really does need its own thread. Wow. Just wow. And, hopefully effing shuts some uninformed posters up! No kidding. Just in this thread alone. Talk about barbecuing a kid with assumptions. Luke paid a huge price . I hope that he’s even more dominant this year, leads us to a national title, and then gets drafted. Not that the league deserves him after putting on their PC pants and engaging in groupthink without truly investigating 1) the true circumstances of this case and 2) ignoring all of the signs that Heimlich is a healthy, high-character individual. Not only do the experts feel confident about Luke being low-risk, they don’t seem all that convinced that he even committed the crimes.

Now Dr. Ray needs to step up to the plate and publicly apologize for throwing LH under the bus! That could go a long way as far as shutting the uninformed the he!! up.
Go Beavs!!
