I’m not worried about Kat. Vs CU. Game high 23 points. 5-7 inside the arc.

Some of the best shooters in the history of basketball have used the same form that Kat does, so to call it "atrocious form" seems a bit of a stretch. When she makes up her mind to shoot she lets 'er rip. Just too much thinking before she decides to shoot. You need to know you are going to be open even before you get the ball. It's a progression, she used to shoot in questionable situations, now she's worrying too much. From what I've seen she has improved in every aspect of her game. Passing, defending, rebounding, court awareness, she is becoming more of an all-around player.

She definitely has blossomed into a top flight player and it is obvious she is improving by leaps and bounds.

True enough about her offensive game becoming more rounded. Last couple games she’s had several interesting And successful drives to the hoop. “Interesting” because, as is the case with her 3-pt shots, her layins incorporate a fairly unique release...not to mention excellent use of backboard spin.
Also, she’s obviously worked hard on defense, which likely encourages Rueck to leave her on the floor more and more.
If you Imagine ahead a bit to the state of her game in 2 years as a Senior...it’s quite a nice picture. Same for Mik.

Some of the "greatest" shooters in the HISTORY of the sport did NOT use a two hand release. It was common teaching to youth pre 1960... Kat's release/shot is totally uncommon. You'll hardly see a two handed release in present day ball. And, in full context I included... as it is taught kand has been for 50 + years)... if it ain't broke don't need to fix it.

The adoption of the one handed shot has nothing to do with accuracy and everything to do with inner city kids looking macho. This isn't a big secret.

He was actually. Inner city San Francisco in the 1930's. Not sure how "macho" he looks though.

It is possible to be accurate either way. It is FAR easier to be accurate with a single hand release/guide hand vs two hands simultaneously. It had zero to do with "cool" and everything to do with mechanics and physics of controlling one mechanism vs two with precision timing. In most cases people have dominate sides... and handedness. It is easier to create a more efficiently accurate motion with one hand. Period. People love to toss out the exceptions... like Rick Barry and underhand freethrows. But, how did he shoot from the field? Not two handed... A two handed release has a far higher chance for error. Cool isn't the reason... results are.

Hank did a running one handed shot. Set shot's he still did two handed. I'll admit that it's darn hard to do a two handed running shot.

Do you know how absolutely stupid you sound, trying to give lessons over the internet to one of the best shooters in the friggin' country? If a girl can hit 45% of her threes by bouncing it off her gawdammed butt, I'd say, "Bouncing it off the butt is the way to go."
And then I'd add, "Cool isn't the reason... results are."

I stand corrected. You aren't giving lessons. You are just knocking people down. Same as always.

baseba1111 asks: baseba1111: I stand corrected. You aren't giving lessons. You are just knocking people down. Same as always. "Truly atrocious" is in the eye of the beholder. There are no bonus style points for made 3-point shots. And plenty of players with perfect form can't hit the broad side of a barn. And there are exceptions to every rule.
