My undergrad is in music ed from OSU. Played trombone as my major instrument, including OSUMB, jazz band, symphonic band, and some small groups. I also play piano/keys and can manage to sing on pitch occasionally. Thirty years later, I barely play anymore. I do sing in a 50 piece 4-part men's group just for fun. Why did you quit playing? Well, I haven't quit altogether, I just do a lot less these days than I did before. Life happens. I picked up a camera about 10 years ago and that has changed my off-work time considerably. I suppose I just traded one creative outlet for another.

I played the Sax (Alto, Tenor and Bari) all through high school, but haven't picked up one in ages and the one I have has dried up pads. I mostly play Guitar and Uke now, throw in some piano (just chords) or mandolin just for fun. As I get older and start having a little time/money I would like to try and learn a new instrument every year (Going to start small [and cheap] with a mouth harp) But my real instrument is my voice. Sang in choirs, musicals, opera, etc all through college. I did some post college singing, but with the time constraints of kids and work I mostly just sing in worship band and and birthday parties I am a Baritone/Tenor 2, who can fake an ok "real" tenor in a pinch. IMHO, nothing sounds quite as sweet as an acapella group singing with so many harmonies that I can't even keep up
