This team was a true point guard away from about 3 P12 road wins. IMO, It was not fundamentals as much as it was point guard. People get on Tres for his turnovers, but he had the best floor sense - trying to run the offense through a small forward rather than a point guard is not efficient. Only the freakish types like Magic, who could play everything from point guard to center, were able to function that well in the back court at 6' 8"

Only the freakish types like Magic, who could play everything from point guard to center, were able to function that well in the back court at 6' 8" The whole PG issue is conjecture... no one knows what would be different as the same staff would be in charge. That is the staff that hasn't recruited many PGs period, nor one that has stuck, and despite both of those factors did not bring in a JC or Grad transfer this year, nor include one in the 2018 recruiting class. Hence, it would seem the "inefficiency" of the personnel is a purposeful decision. Even when JM was here the offense was no better. When Bruce went off late in the year it wasn't offensive efficiency... it was one on one basketball after nothing developed and was often in transition or late in the shot clock. What is not conjecture... the team has no PG... there is not one signed... there is not one showing interest as of now... we have lost 20+ road games including when we had a PG... this roster is 4+ years in the making and the sole responsibility of the HC. Sadly... we'll celebrate (hopefully) when the road streak ends at lowly WSU, the #11 team in the Pac12... because that is a step forward!

Seven (7): @stanford, @cal, WSU, @wsu, UW, Col, and an upset. This is up from three earlier in the year. They pass the eye test in spurts. I'm hoping Ethan emerges as the glue on the team. No one else is showing any leadership and no one is listening to Coach Tinkle. Finish 15 and 15. Just enough wins for Coach Tinkle to see his son become a graduate transfer, and for Ethan to turn pro. Unfortunately the season played out as expected. Fifty percent of posters predicted 4-8 Pac-12 wins and we had 7. As for me: RIGHT 7-11, 15-15 WRONG @stanford (Oregon instead) WRONG @cal (ASU instead) RIGHT WSU RIGHT @wsu, RIGHT UW RIGHT Col RIGHT and an upset. (UCLA) Ethan did not emerge as the glue on the team. And, no one else showed leadership on the team and no one still listens to Coach Tinkle. Tinkle survives another year. When the UA losses are vacated we will be 15-12 and have an winning record!
