if we want to start winning next season!
Along with Tedford, we need to keep this roster in tact and bring in some surprise recruits for '18! If McMaryion joins, great but I doubt he comes back! There aren't a lot of options that we have that can turn this thing around immediately but JT is one of them. Recruiting, IMO will greatly improve. The offense will revolve around Ryan Nall and the QB play will be good! The defense will improve!
I honestly think he wants this job! If you look at all of the candidates and are being honest with yourself, he is the best option for immediate improvement. But I think he could be an 8-10 year guy that brings in some great seasons. We'll see.
All in Tedford!
Go Beavs!

However, as I said here several times, Tedford = A less nice Mike Riley. I'm ok with that, but it seems like the masses here want a coach > Riley. Just sayin'

Just sayin' The puzzling thing is, MR was crucified by some for his calm demeanor on the sidelines. "His lack of fire". GA really captured those peoples hearts with his big boy pants talk and "fire" on the sidelines and that's great and all, but as they learned that doesn't mean jack in the wins and losses department like they thought it did. Tedford is much more similar to MR in that respect than he is to a Stoops or GA, how long is that going to fly with the "he's gotta have fire and be a rah rah type" crowd?

Because he said he wants the job, as simple as that! Do you think he cam e back to the collegiate level to be the king of of the WAC? I don't think so! I totally disagree with the whole MR comparison too. Why do you say that? I don't want a Coach Riley. Tedford is the better QB coach and in my opinion, the better offensive mind. I think this is a way for anybody who hasn't really followed Tedford's career to just nullify him. Ridiculous. He and Riley are nothing alike IMO. And I don't think their results would be alike either. I think Tedford could surpass what Riley has done. Go Beavs!

If Coaches are winning, nobody gives a crap about "fire" or being a "rah rah" guy. That's only when things aren't going well. Me? I don't care what the coach's demeanor on the sideline is (to each their own) but if you can't compete/ win in this conference, that's what counts?! My take! Tedford will win! Go Beavs!

I'd take Tedford. Someone STEADY has got to right this sinking ship. If someone had told me five years ago that the Beavs would be getting pummeled again with regularity like the 70s,80s, and most of the 90s, I'd have said they were crazy. I don't know Ed Ray, Scott Barnes, or anyone else of importance at the administration level at OSU. Please, someone tell me they are dedicated to building a successful football program. I need to hear it from someone who knows. If THEY don't give a s%#t, I'm in angst in vain.

You see, I don't think Tedford is "steady", if you're saying he is just some average joe shmoe that would only be able to win 5-6 games a season. I thin he could be an 8 to 11 wins a season guy in an ideal situation. There are a lot of younger, inexperienced coaches compared to Tedford. Tedford has faced or coached along side some of these guys (C Peterson). I think he could do something special with this program. A "younger" coach is going to need more time to build a staff and a quality program. Experience trumps youth when building most programs, in my opinion! Go Beavs!

Would Tedford leave his alma mater after just one season? I'd actually like him as our hire as I think he could immediately turn this thing around and get the program on track, but I cringe a bit at the thought of him ditching Fresno St. after just a year. I hear ya. But I think he definitely not only wanted this job but he wanted to get back into this conference. His experience in this conference and his success, should be a good indicator by itself of his credentials. Go Beavs!

Last night there was talk of Nall either going to the NFL or moving on as Grad Transfer. No matter the Team will be very different next year. The sooner the better on a Hire because we need some serious talent and now. I am very worried about recruiting which mean we are near desperate for a "Name" HC.
