granted his release. 4* running back/wide receiver back on the market. Guess he wasn't cut out for the defensive side of the LOS.

And now that recruiting class looks below average for Oregon State.

LMAO Was he ever eligible? Pretty sure he was eligible this year. Just couldn’t get off the practice squad.

Wallace was eligible both last year and this year AFAIK. There was a quote from Hall that the kid didn't even know how to do a backpedal when he got here, since he'd never played DB before. What I want to know is - how can a guy be rated a 4* DB if no one has even seen him do a back-pedal? If the kid is a good athlete who isn't cut out for DB, why not move him to offense? I realize we have a lot of WRs and RBs, but it's better than losing him.

Hmmm...The Whoregonian article said he played corner and rb in high school and he was not eligible all of last year due to grades and couldn't practice with the team. I'd link it but 10 people would freak out thinking it will make a difference to click on it even though it's actually like pissing in the ocean.
The Star system appears to be a joke.

When Pierce transfers after the season, the complete evisceration of the first two recruiting classes will be complete.
I just don’t see a running back as good as Pierce going third string again next year (assuming Nall is back and Tyner is granted eligiblity.)

Tyner has been our most effective RB the past two weeks. My point is that Pierce is good enough to go somewhere and be a featured back. If he has that option, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him take it.

I don't think an extra season would be unlikely at all. He took a true injury redshirt and then was deemed having to retire medically... that would be his second season lost to injury the NCAA wants to get that extra year. He's got a real good shot at it.

"NCAA" and "Real good shot at it" generally don't go hand in hand.

I think Tyner gets the year. The medical retirement is the key verbiage IMO. However it is the NCAA and Tim Cook didn't get one for his season ending injury pre fall camp.

Did Cook have at least two seasons derailed by injury? From what I've heard, that is the primary standard for the 6th year hardship eligibility. Tyner had the one he sat out due to injury, plus one year of "retirement" not being able to play because of the injury. He's got a very good case.

Regarding Nall, is there any upside for him to return to OSU?

Regarding Nall, is there any upside for him to return to OSU? If he is looking at being drafted in a lower round or not at all, there's lots of potential upside... provided we bring in a coach that uses running backs in some fashion to where he can increase his perceived value as a runner or receiver.
