For those who are more familiar with our depth chart. What are the odds of replacing Wallace's on field production next season?
Thanks

Thanks I'm 59, have a bad left knee, a bad right ankle, overweight and haven't run or jumped in decades, but I could walkon and match his on field prouction so far if my thinking he hasn't played yet is correct.

Once upon a time we used to take those big safeties and corners and turn them into gunners on the kick coverage teams. I don’t even recall seeing him out there in that capacity this season.

Man, that’s old (I just turned 59 too). Did you grow up in the Willamette Valley? Assuming you’ve been a Beav fan since you can remember like me, we have certainly seen some crazy stuff in our football program - both good and bad - haven’t we?

Grew up in Grants Pass, got to Corvallis for OSU in '76, just in time for Fertig.

I don't see Pierce going anywhere... he has been running as the primary backup or even 1b for the whole year and all of last year, several starts as well. Not sure what others are seeing but Tyner is clearly the third back in, and IMHO the third most effective as well... It looks like to me Pierce has been banged up the last couple weeks as well. As far as Christian goes... that's really too bad, chalk another "whoopsie" up for GA... Sure looks like we now have 3 straight years of blech in terms of recruiting.... Is Craig Evans still around? Couldn't agree more with the star system being a joke as well... It gets super excited about "athletes" and ignores actual skill, position and production... Wallace looked great in the weight room and filled out a uniform nicely but if he has no skills and no position... Then whats the point? That's one of the reasons I am not too worried about losing Talanoa... He is clearly a great athlete, but in terms of actual production and effect on a game, he doesn't even dominate 5A oregon high school sports... Having seen a couple CV games this year, he wasn't even the best player on his HS team in terms of actual on field, game altering play. Clearly the best athlete though We have to recruit guys who have an actual skill and production. Reminds me of the rodgers brothers, all they did was produce. Combine type measurements? Meh. Size? Meh. High school? Small. Actual performance? OUTSTANDING!

I could see Pierce transferring because he's the only one of the three that could take the year hit and still have playing time left....he'd have two years on the back end at a university where he could be the primary ball carrier....at best he's looking at one season of that here.

They were the next year. I think Joel and I are about two weeks apart in age, I was one of those November birthdays that started school at 5.

Regarding Nall, is there any upside for him to return to OSU? My opinion is that he stays if we get the right staff in here. In other words, Nall seems like he has a good head on his shoulders and if the staff coming in seems like; they have a good plan in place, they show confidence in what they want to do in laying down the blue print and they have some previous experience with success.....it seems to me he stays. He also seems very loyal. I mean look at the records in his career here so far. Not very good, and he hasn't left yet! If he chose to transfer, he would be a grad transfer (from what I have heard) which would allow him to play immediately for another school in the FBS. He's a great collegiate RB but he won't get much love in the NFL leaving early (especially slotted as a fullback by most scouts that I have heard). Really hope he stays! I think he is one of the keys to stay, no matter who takes over, for there to be any chance of having a surprise season in '18! My take. Go Beavs!

That would suck! I really like him and his game. He has good quickness, doesn't waste time in the hole and can be deceptively fast. He's young and has good size too. I mentioned this in another post about "attrition". I believe he is connected to Telly Lockette as well. Florida connection. I think he would be a big loss. The strength of this team, IMO is the running backs. They need to keep that group if there's any chance for a possible surprise season next year. Go Beavs!

Scott Stauch was my neighbor and a family friend (I'm a bit younger than him). Went to my first Beaver game to watch Scott play for UCLA against the Beavs. Beavs upset UCLA 15-13 in 1978.

Grew up in Grants Pass, got to Corvallis for OSU in '76, just in time for Fertig. Same year as me. I graduated from McNary, flirted with walking on at OSU in the fall of ‘76. A couple friends did. That was the early stages of 25 years in which Beaver fans played the “one of these things doesn’t belong here”. Namely, bonafide D1 talent. For the next couple of decades, we would have 1 or 2 guys on the roster at a time who really stood out with next level talent amidst a slew of great, solid kids who would have torn it up at PSU. Steve Coury and I became friends after having several classes together. Steve and DB Kerry Jusatin (had him in a couple classes too) were great players (Justin played in the NFL). Reggie Bynum, Robb Thomas, Erik Wilhelm, Esera Tuolo, Reggie Tongue were among the notable individuals who were as good as most anyone in the country at their positions, but the teams SUCKED. People who have tracked this as long or longer than us understand the amazing job that Mike Riley did and don’t appreciate it when others try to disparage a fine man and a lifesaver for this program. In our “what have you done for me lately” world today, I understand being happy with change and feeling like Coach Riley’s best days are behind him on the sidelines. However, it’s ignorant and petty to rip him up and act like he wasn’t a very good coach for us in his time. Ignorant, petty...and stupid! With that history in mind, all of us had every reason to be scared to death about the direction CGA took us. Shades of the mid-70s to mid-90s had to be flooding the minds of anyone who truly had a front row seat to how bad and embarrassing things were. I had the desperate feeling - especially given the length of CGAs contract and huge buyout, that we were 1 year away from disco-era ineptness...if not there already.
