We have another bye after the October 14th game against Colorado. That's a good time to cut bait on the head coach. It may allow the team to start feeling a little positive about the future. They are still going to get smoked unless Arizona or Arizona State has also quit on their respective coaches at that time. But they may form a stronger bond with the knowledge that the administration has their back.
Unfortunately, I think a 1 chance in 20 is too optimistic for Dr. Ray to step up at that time.

They are for programs trying to mollify their boosters because the boosters run the show. Maintaining some semblance of order is dignified even when the football team's losing is a disgrace.

If you've been paying attention... there is no "order" right now... at this very second our HC had know idea the game plan on offense yet it's said he is in on the meetings. His OC tosses a player under the bus this week. And that's just the current actions of a staff that has no order or direction. So firing him would actually begin to give this program a direction... one that says were done with this sham and are so dedicated that we'll eat 11 mil.

Yes the football program is now a hot mess. But it isn't animal house as far as i can tell. The only rationale that Dr. Ray would have is a disciplinary issue or some kind of loss of control that requires removing the coach. Field results ain't enough, pal. In fact i give it even odds that GA can even survive 1-11 this year if the kids get good grades and don't get arrested and he doesn't punch any of them. Gee i sure hope none of that happens.

Other reasons: It's good for Coach Andersen. If OSU can not go forward with him as coach, then he knows and he can do what is best for him and his family. 2nd) It gives us a head start on a coaching search. I hope that search has already started in the deep back channels. 3) It gives the assistant coaches a few more weeks to work their contacts for next year and show their stuff more to help save their careers. 4) It's obviously best for the players.

Having a interim to search for a quality replacement is pretty coming. Only LSU and the good ol boy inbred southern mentality would have thought Ed was a good hire.

Well, whatever you like or not....
Here's Dr. Ray's email responsed to my email about my frustrating with CGA this morning "Coach Anderson takes the current circumstances to heart. He is a proven winner and he is working hard with players and staff to win games. I appreciate your continuing support for the Beavers. I honestly believe the best is yet to come and no one wants that more than coach Anderson.
Ed"
Looks like CGA will be staying for a while.

Here's a serious question. If GAG did get fired mid-season, do we even have an Asst that would be qualified to take over?

Yeah imagine if they named Clune interim HC and somehow OS managed to win two games. Hire Clune?
CGA HAS to go. This program has taken a dump after showing a glimpse of promise last year, and it never had to be that way.
OSU should have a search committee in place yesterday.
Rocky Long is now going to be a hot commodity this offseason. 2 straight 11 win seasons at SDSU and a chance to go undefeated this year. I'm an SDSU graduate, I've always watched in trepidation because there is nothing exciting to his system. Other than the kids sell out for him, play tough physical football. It just works. Not sure he's the right fit for Pac 12 football, but he's 2-0 in the Pac 12 this year, including beating one of the Pac 12 favorites, and doing playing their style of football.

As an aside......my aunt lives in Del Cerro, right across the eight from state. I grew up in San Carlos in the 60s. Great place.... then.
