Would you guys be in favor or against me doing a daily JBS recap? Some days I don't get to listen at lunch and wouldn't be able to do it until the evening, and I definitely would only do this during football season, but I think it's a good way for us to discuss different facets of the team other than just coming up with demeaning nicknames for Gary and discussing Fresno State's backup quarterback.
I would definitely highlight any factual errors and/or technical issues because I find them hilarious. For instance, early on in the show today, Parker let it be known that they were live in the Jack and Ginny Wilborn Media Room at the VFC. When Mike left to get audio from practice, John said "Welcome back to the Jack and Ginny Walden Media Room, and I know I got that last name wrong."
Nothing says good radio like just making stuff up that you know is inaccurate.

I appreciate John and Mike, but if you are going to do a recap that "highlights any factual errors or tech issues", you may crash this website.

I would love this. Clearly I'd like it if you transcribed the 12 minute Dave from Tumwater calls. We need this.
Also, do they care if you're drunk at work? Maybe we up the ante and you do a shot when Warren says "Now I didn't get to see the game but..."
or we can add some other JBS drinking game buzz-phrases: WC Fields, "Romey", "technical difficulties", "played for Lake Oswego" etc...

As a long time listener to the JBS, ordinarily I'd say to go for it, a recap would be great. But anymore, Parker, and to some extent his sidekick Jon, have become chronic apologists for the disastrous FB program. Every week recently, Parker's theme has been "I just got a feeling the Beavs are gonna start clicking this week." Meanwhile, FB gets deeper and deeper into nowhere land.
I know that OSU pays Mike's salary and to some extent he has to be the eternal optimist, but his constant, pathetic (and false) optimism about Anderson's program is eroding his credulity and detracting from the Joe Beaver Show.
Maybe hold off on your JBS recaps till baseball season???

Maybe hold off on your JBS recaps till baseball season??? I actually really like Mike. He's a good man, a loyal fan and classy enough to give credit to an opponent. His voice is easy to listen to, and he's won a lot of awards over the year for his work. Make no mistake, MP isn't the big time. He's sometimes so emotional that if effects his commentary and those listening. I would sure rather have him any day over the hack Jerry Allen and his sidekick Neil Jorgensen. Those guys are the ultimate homers, with excuses galore. They would make an avid hole supporter want to rip their skin off after listening to them for an hour. The guy that I love to listen to most is Jim Wilson. He's honest, insightful and hits the nail on the head in his analysis. He's not afraid to call it like he sees it. It may be his pedigree as a 2 sport Beaver athlete that gives him some license and cred, or that sports analysis is not his livelihood, but p I'm sure that OSU pays him just like they do MP. I would love it if he was on the JBS

I'd rather dock with Chip Kelly.

Fully agree about Jim Wilson...he's amazingly knowledgeable about both FB and baseball. And he tells it like it is.
My favorite announcer as well.

Having listened to many, many other pro or college announcers via Sirius radio over the years, I'd respectfully disagree. MP is far better than at least half of the clowns doing MLB these days.

MP is far better than at least half of the clowns doing MLB these days. it isn't easy what he does. He is on the road a ton. He has to fill dead air and not sound like a moron and if you think the voices in YOUR head are bad, just imagine what he hears when he is trying to chill out in some late night diner. I would drink myself silly and eat napkins and be muttering to myself. Not that he does that. Any more.

Maybe hold off on your JBS recaps till baseball season??? I am pretty sure Mike is NOT paid by OSU... right? He is an employee of learfield sports? I could be wrong. I do find your take that he is making too many excuses humorous though. I think this is just a coping mechanism for him, and certainly not directed by OSU. In fact my biggest complaint about Mike is he tends to get TOO dour and tends to get too nit picky about things he doesn't like (Catch the ball with two hands, don't leave men on base, and for the LOVE OF GOD RUN THE DAMN BALL [ ok, that last one may be mine]). I don't get to listen to JBS that often so maybe he is more pollyanna on there, during the games though he is happy to let his own disappointments shine through and is fine with calling out even players (Last week he called out Hodgins, who was one of the few to have a good game, when he didn't dive for a catch even though the game was already over). In terms of Mike not being "Big Time"... I have to call BS on that as well... he may not broadcast for a "Big time" school, but HE is be far the best announcer, including professional team and national guys, that I have ever listened too! AND he has to be able to do ALL the sports not just specialize in one! I listen to a lot of radio broadcasts, and I seriously think mike is the best. I always know the score, and game situation, which is more than you can say for most!
