The best way to lose a gunfight is to leave your gun at home.
7 carries. 7. For the War Daddy. 7 carries.

Not the first time we've employed that strategy either. Way too much worrying about adjusting to other teams and not nearly enough trying to make other teams adjust to us.

Thomas Tyner? Zero touches. Fastest man on the field, not a single touch.

Uh, Tyner wasn't on the field. He didn't play because of a tweaked hamstring.

Uh, Tyner wasn't on the field. He didn't play because of a tweaked hamstring. Fair enough.

Ryan's carries really dropped off after his fumble inside our own 10 yd line He carried the ball precisely zero times after the fumble. Maybe I missed one. There really is no commitment to the run with this staff. If we have ANY chance this Saturday, we need to control the ball and that means lots of carries. Hope the OL is up to the task because WSU's defense can be up and down.

Ya, 7 carries and 4.4 ypc. That's success running the ball in my book. It would probably have gotten better with more carries too. Something wrong here in River City. MB.

Minnesota ran 3 times for 14 yards and a touchdown. 27-14 Minnesota. On Oregon State's next drive, Pierce ran for -5, Luton threw for 0 yards, and then Luton was sacked. Minnesota threw the first pass for 19 yards. Otherwise, the Gophers ran eight times for 37 yards and a touchdown. 34-14 Minnesota. On Oregon State's next drive, Luton hit Togiai for Togiai's big gain, 14 yards and a first down. The next three plays were pass plays and netted five yards total. Minnesota ran 15 times for 62 yards and a touchdown. 41-14 Minnesota. Oregon State's next three plays were pass plays and netted four yards total. Minnesota ran twice for 66 yards and a touchdown. 48-14 Minnesota. Over a 20:45 period, Minnesota ran 28 times for 179 yards and four touchdowns and passed once for 19 yards. Oregon state ran once for -5 yards and otherwise called nine pass plays that netted 21 yards (7 pass attempts for 23 yards and 2 Luton rushing attempts for -2 yards).

Unpopular take of the day---maybe Nall is just a slightly above average running back who had some big games last year against bad competition. Quite frankly AP was much more effective and held onto the ball given the bad line play

Unpopular take of the day---maybe Nall is just a slightly above average running back who had some big games last year against bad competition. Quite frankly AP was much more effective and held onto the ball given the bad line play They both had exactly the same ypc for the game. And Nall was the running back for our one and only long touchdown drive, slashing the defense for 4-5 yards per clip every time he touched the ball. The only reason that drive was so hard was because we insisted on throwing on first down a couple times and it blew everything up. I can't believe Nall's fumble is even entering the conversation. It was one fumble. He's a running back, it happens. It's not like he has a habit of losing the ball. If that fumble entered into the coaches' decision to not play him the rest of the game, it's just more proof of how incompetent they are.

That fumble did not seem to be the result of carrying the ball poorly. Simply a helmet in the exact wrong spot at the right time, no avoiding that type of fumble.
