I'll be at the game however, if this report is accurate, shots on me @ Clods after our 63-0 blow out... I still think we win, but this sounds like NK propaganda on terms of our "perfection " and "impressiveness". Yawn
GO BEAVS 38-24, OOOOOOO SSSSSSSS UUUUUUU!
Also Supreme Leader CGA once shot 18 in a round of golf and invented the submarine! (NK humor)

Here's a few of Slaughter's nuggets from before the PSU game:
--The Beaver defense showed some fire today against the scout team. After their lackluster performance against Colorado State, the Beavers were in need of finding their groove and energy on the defensive end and it appears that they have done just that this week as every guy was going 110 percent.
-Thomas Tyner was getting extensive reps with the first team squad today. He was used mostly as a runner but was also involved in the passing game as well. Given his lack of production and use in their first game, I believe the coaching staff will be trying to get the ball in Tyner’s hands as much as possible.
(In fairness, he also accurately predicted Darrell Garretson getting some snaps and commented on Luton needing to improve his decision making.)

Good "pull"... for me this staff is all about, "I'll believe it when I actually see it"!!! All the latest media "pleas" and reports have me thinking someone is trying a little too hard to appease the fan base. All we need to see is RESULTS... a team that plays with focus and organization... aligned, know assignments, play fast and furious, and execute. Those things on a consistent basis will lead to W's. The bar has been set now. The fan base, even those who fully support GA, sees this program as an utter failure in terms of presenting a competent finished product on game day. No one cares about practice. It'll take several consistent good to great performances to turn the opinion toward the positive. That's the staffs' fault, not the fans... it's how fans react to poorly coached teams that show no semblance of turning the corner after 26 games. Unfortunately our future opponents are not going to be easy tests, so the magnitude of such turn around becomes even more difficult... if not improbable. However, in athletics weird s%#te happens and it is why you get to play the games. Let's hope next week we can post tons of positives on our way to Pullman.

(NK humor) one of my favorite Olympic Games TV coverage - Bob Costas talking about Kim with the multiple hole-in-ones on the only round of golf he had ever played. Then deadpan, saying the 18th was the most difficult because of bouncing it off the clown's nose.

I see a very vocal minority muttering the words "utter failure".... I see the nattering nabobs of negativity shouting down anyone who doesn't share their doom and gloom outlook.... The team doesn't appear to have quit and neither have I.

And, 7-19, over 520yds/game given up in year 3, and the 3rd offensive philosophy is FAILURE at this point in time. Fully supportive of GA or totally against... it's failure. If you don't agree I'd say you are the one with low expectations for our athletic programs and thus the "negative outlook".

Seriously - I really don't know which practice report is worse
Option A: Rivals report which says our offense is nearing perfection. alrighty then...
Option B: O-Live report which gives us this nugget from practice yesterday -
Highlight During scout team work, true freshman cornerback Isaiah Dunn made a nice pass breakup near the right sideline.
So the takeaway: a guy knocked down a pass on scout team. THIS IS YOUR HIGHLIGHT. This is also on par with Someone tackled someone or Jake threw a spiral. Water is still wet after all these years.. The players wore cleats. Blockers practiced blocking each other.
Yeah..yeah... I get it.. the last 4 minutes and 17 seconds are open to the media. It's just silly.

As a "nattering nabob of negativity" I was hoping you could tell me what sort of positives you see on the field that make you think that we're on the right track. Because giving up 45 points a game and 520 yards on defense while simultaneously turning the ball over 3.5 times a game do not have me very optimistic.

I know several people who have stopped attending games due to all the negativity coming from the fan base. DA's grandparents stopped coming to games because they were tired of hearing the "fans" foul mouthed description of his performance. The term you used was "utter failure" and that is not an accurate picture of what is going on. If you are expecting kids to be perfect on every play then prepare to be disappointed. No program is perfect on every play. All of the whining and complaining isn't going to make a difference. It won't force a change to a new defensive scheme, it won't usher in a 4th offensive philosophy, and it won't make the game day experience any better. Why would anyone want to come coach or play for a team whose fans don't have their backs?

Why would anyone want to come coach or play for a team whose fans don't have their backs? It's reality... not "wonderland". It's not whining. It's actually holding a highly paid group of employees to a standard we should all hold ourselves to as parents and human beings. Complaining comes with the territory in every aspect of life. And, your own words fall completely hollow as here you are complaining... guess you fully expect it to make no difference... so why post??? I assume then that you've never complained or that when you do it does make a difference. It has ZERO to do with perfection and expecting perfection. You've completely missed the boat as a poster on here if you think any "nabob" has ever mentioned or expected perfection. As of now, do you think the performance on the field or the attitude of the fan base is more a culprit in attracting players??? Again... results draw players, not fans. Dad's grandparents, my neighbor, who knows who else. But, I'll guarantee you the empty seats reflect performance far more than fan displeasure and negativity, and it's ludicrous to think otherwise. Beaver fans are much much more patient and positive that "most" other fans bases... and it is not even close in many instances. As for "change"... empty seats WILL make a difference and is basically 'complaining' in a financial format. Complaining here is mostly "venting" cuz we care about our university. Ever vented because you care... ya, thought so! Bottom line, no one forces you to log on, nor read any post, nor all the way through. If you want everyone on the same page this isn't the place for you. "If everyone is thinking the same, then a lot of people aren't thinking"
