“I truly don’t believe that they beat us fair and square,” Hungalu said.
Uh, yes they did. C'mon man.
Also snickered at Coach Clune's "Million little things" comment. Last time I heard a coach say that, he was canned at season's end. (Hint: He was at tsdtr)

Does anyone else find it strange some of our players use a lot of "I statements"?
Maybe I'm used to the 3rd person and coach speak "we", but then combined with all the other media quips there is this...
"I don't like losing,” Failauga said. “It was a tough loss, but I think I played well because I did my assignment and I gave it all I had.”
I find it very strange a player pats himself on the back after a 31 point loss let alone a defensive player on a unit that gave up 58!?

Wow, I don't want to knock a guy for speaking to the press but this is a team captain? This is a team game and when you start winning by 21+ you can tell me how great you played. Even then it sounds more than a little arrogant. I can't tell if he's just really confident in himself or if he's driving the bus forwards, backwards and maybe rolling it a bit over his teammates. Really disconcerting.

After reading the article, maybe our defense shouldn't be talking to the press at all. Seriously, both players that made statements come off looking bad.

That was the most depressing practice report ever. Two seniors! One says "they didn't beat us, we just FORGOT HOW TO DO ALL THE STUFF WE DO IN PRACTICE" and the other says "yeah we lost, but I did my job."
And this is a day or two after the head coach lit up a guy for saying we "weren't ready to play coming out of the locker room at the half."
This is beyond ridiculous, and I'm so dismayed. This team makes excuses, blames each other, let's one mistake turn into seven...... we've gotta turn this around quick, because the schedule gets real tough real fast and I'm starting to doubt this team has the mental fortitude to keep it together if things get tough.

Ya know the old adage, "Players tend to mirror the image the coach projects". Excuses and blame seem to be the one constant. If we could tackle and run one offense as well as we do those, we'd be in biz!

Most of the reasons I want CGA fired (today would make me happy...) have little to do with actually being 6-19. It is all the million little things, as they say. Being a douche canoe of a head coach in your attitude and accountability doesn't help.

I didn't even want to reply to this practice report thread, because I concur. Gag.

Yep, when the lead to general observations below all the lovely commentary is that we have picked our uniform combination, that doesn't say much for the content of the practice.

From today's practice report:
Andersen on how the players have responded to his message following the Colorado State loss: “I don’t have to give them some ‘Hip, Hip, Hooray’ speech to get them prepared. They’re grown young men.”
I'm dying. Did he do that on purpose, or is it just a hilarious coincidence?

As he refers to them as grown young men, does this mean they finally have their Big Boy Pants on?

It just keeps on getting better....maybe they need to hire a PR agent to handle nothing but talking to the press. This is still August and they have already used up their seasons worth of stupid comments. What are they going to do for the rest of the year?

Seems very very coincidental our former coach is a "hip hip hooray" guy and that's his quote. There are a ton of phrases you use and that one really makes no sense in the context of the question "of how they responded". The question wasn't what his message was... The dude is a PR nightmare...
