You can't expect to win a game when the 1-5 hitters go 0-15. Not going to happen. Shake it off and tomorrow is a brand new day! Go Beavs! Why i believe LSU wins tomorrow. This loss will be very detrimental to the OSU team. they are not used to losing and having to comeback tomorrow with that taste still in your mouth may cause them to lose focus and LSU takes an early lead and never looks back. Or what beaverbeliever said. 5 losses on the year, the team has always bounced back with a win after the previous 4.

Final from Omaha: LSU 3, Oregon State 1.
We'll play again Saturday at either 12 p.m. PT (if TCU wins tonight) or 5 p.m. PT (if FLA wins).

Part of the reason we don't have many loses is that these guys don't do exactly what you're suggesting they will do. Lange and Hess pitched a great game, but it wasn't near intimidating of a result as you seem to think it was.

The key for our offense will be to get the leadoff guy one base. LSU got the first out of every inning before an OSU player reached. That's the best way to slow down our offense. If your guys can do that again tomorrow then tip of the cap to them.

He threw six innings and 84 pitches of two-hit, eight strikeout baseball against Abilene Christian, but he had a setback in the Corvallis Regional, which is why Casey switched to Fehmel in the Super Regional.

He won't be on an official PC of any sort, but if he's in the game long enough to throw 100+ pitches, I can't see them letting him go past 110.

You ought to feel good to see that improvement.

No. The NCAA baseball review rules for Supers and CWS specifically require the umpire crew to request a review, which is done in a centralized review area. There is no provision for a coach or team rep to request or a review or force a "challenge" on a reviewable call. The umpire crew blew the call all around in every possible way. Running out of the dugout was as likely to get CASEY tossed as it was to actually get a review. Only way to fix it would be for the booth to stop the game to force the review. Request when asked... read again... they don't review their own call unless crew has questions among themselves. Called foul... no other ump had different call. You probably know more about most of the official rules of baseball than me, but I don't think you've read the official rules on this one. Basically the calling ump has to either ask for help or another has to suggest a conference. The coach can "request" a conference, but in doing so is as likely to get tossed as he is to actually get a review, and the coach specifically cannot request a replay or "challenge" a call. Bottom line is the umpire crew screwed up the bottom of the 3rd in every way possible with a massive impact on the remainder of the game.
Relevant excerpts from NCAA Baseball 2017 and 2018 Rules
Appendix E, Section 2 c. The crew chief will make the determination to use instant replay. There is no “coaches challenge.” Under the provisions of Getting the Call Right, coaches have the ability to request a conference among the umpires.
Appendix E, Section 1 D) Umpires are not to seek help on plays on which they are 100 percent confident in their judgment and view of the play. Head coaches are not entitled to a second opinion when the calling umpire is certain his decision is correct. On the other hand, and contrary to past practice, umpires are not to “die with a call” in cases in which a) the calling umpire is not 100 percent certain he is right; and b) another umpire has additional information that could lead to a proper ruling. Both NCAA philosophy and umpire integrity – consistent with NCAA rules – dictate that calls are reversed in this situation. E) When an umpire seeks help, he should do so shortly after making his original call. He should not have a lengthy discussion with the head coach or others and then ask for help. If the calling umpire seeks help, he should include other umpire(s) who would likely have the best position to see the elements of the play. This conversation must take place away from players or coaches. If a crew chief deems it necessary, he can, at his discretion, bring together the entire crew. All umpires involved should meet at once; multiple meetings unnecessarily delay the game. Crew chiefs can conduct conferences and are expected to ensure that NCAA philosophies are given priority over any single umpire’s pride.

Including the 1-hole hitter in this argument without a massive caveat is just plain absurd. Actually the box score says 0 - 17. Kwan was hitless in today's game. I am just saying when you play against one of the Top Pitchers in the country, the HEART of our order has to produce. Box Score
