I think for this team to stick in the minds of the nation, they need to either blow the doors off of LSU again and whoever they play in the championship round, or have one or two more late inning miraculous comebacks. Three straight ho-hum 6-3 wins aren't going to get much run on that show that used to show highlights on ESPN. It's the best team I think any of us have ever seen at OSU, but sentimentally, my favorite will always be the 2006 team, mainly because of Jonah Nickerson's heroics. Nickerson-Buck-Gundy legends! Quick story about Dallas Buck - back when I was wrapping up my time in college, I was an employee of the ticket office. One of my duties was to sign in guests of players at football games. Right before kickoff, here comes Dallas Buck, then a redshirt freshman on the football team. He's wearing his jersey and has a girl on each arm. He points to his name on the list in front of me, says "I'm that one," and then just keeps walking into the game without picking up his tickets. You do you, Dallas.

Talant and what they do in MLB or where they are drafted doesn't make the team great. If you went by that OSU wouldnt even be the best this season which if they win it all they will be. But, a great team who's players go onto MLB greatness indicate just how great that team was in talent. Not necessarily. Players who go onto MLB greatness are just players who greatly developed from the ages of ~20-25. That doesn't mean they were better than everyone else when they were 18-20 years old. (Granted it makes it likely but not a given.) After all most players are drafted for their potential rather than their overall skill level at that particular moment. By definition this means they don't want who is the best player now but who will be the best in 3-5 years from now.

Simply said how truly talent that team was. Just as the 2013 squad having 3 in the Bigs... very talented team that had guys get even better as individuals post college and in the right organization at the right time.

How will you feel when LSU doesn't make it to the CWS finals?
