Florida State are masters at the 0-2 at Omaha.
I would guess that they hold the all-time record for # of 0-2 appearances.

Fullerton State down 3-1 to Florida State, bottom of the sixth. They're CSUF, not FSU or Fullerton State. And a number of grads refer to it as FSU.

Fullerton State down 3-1 to Florida State, bottom of the sixth. They're CSUF, not FSU or Fullerton State. It really depends upon who you ask. Cal State Fresno is Fresno State, FSU. Cal State Long Beach is Long Beach State, LBSU. Cal State Sacramento is Sacramento State, SSU. Cal State San Jose is San Jose State, SJSU. Cal State Fullerton is usually called Fullerton State in an academic setting but normally called Cal State Fullerton in sports for no good reason. Cal State Northridge does the same but are in the minority. Cal State Bakersfield, who became a Division 1 team in 2010 now adheres to the minority name convention. Honestly, it should be Fullerton State. In a non-sports setting, most people refer to them as Fullerton State. Other naming conventions are just pandering to Fullerton State...........

Yes, and a number of alumni, i.e. grads, refer to it as FSU because everyone in California calls it Fullerton State. Sacramento is Sacramento State; San Francisco is SF State; Stanislaus i,s Stanislaus State; Sonoma is Sonoma State; etc,. Although, the California Polytechnical Universities, San Luis Obispo and Pomona are referred to as Cal Poly Pomona or San Luis Obispo.

But I've never heard or read of anyone referring to them as "Fullerton State" or "FSU". Only "Fullerton" or "Cal State Fullerton".
