This CWS feels like a bunch of juggernauts. Oregon State, LSU, Fullerton, Florida State, Louisville, Texas A&M, TCU, Florida. Look at that line-up. That's a hell of a tourney right there! This is going to be a BAD @$$ CWS, regardless of who wins it all. These are teams that make the tournament almost every year, and several to the SR's and CWS! I cannot wait!!

Only three of the teams at this year's CWS have ever won, and the three that have are multiple winners. Looks like there is a bit of separation there.

I reply in peace, but go FO along with every extra point Alex Serna missed in Baton Rouge. The only good thing about Baton Rouge is Linda Rondstadt used it in a song, but really, does anyone ever really go there for an academic education? I'm sorry, my ex door neightbors had two flags on their garage. LSU and the pile of sheet that resides in Eugene. Maybe I'm too emotional. The man who lived there didn't even know what I was talking about when I leaned across the fence and said OSU should have won that game. I don't even think he knew they played a game.

The past is the past, but it's cool to see teams (regardless if they've won a CWS or not) that are very recognizable in the D1 Baseball community. Nothing more, nothing less. BTW...I hate the Yankees. ;-) Go Beavs! Go Cubs!

I don't hate the Yankees but I despise the Dodgers and St. Louis. go Big Red Machine! Wow...kindred spirit. There is no professional franchise in any sport that I hate more than the dodgers, and st lo is second as far as mlb is concerned, although I must admit that it is a distant second because of the pure, acid hate I have for the dodgers.
The Yanks don't bother me.

So why do you hate the Dodgers? If you grow up in the SF Bay area is that something that may happen?
As a little kid, I saw Mike Schmidt, Greg Luzinski, Larry Bowa and others play in Eugene so the Phils were my favorite team but I never had a team I hated. Willie Mays was my original favorite player but I was ok with the Dodgers (nice uniforms, Willie Davis, Wes Parker). Now days I just root for Beavers in MLB.
That being said, let's look at more telling numbers
top 50 RPI... Y'all have played 12 games vs top 50 RPI, and to y'alls credit, won them all]We have played 41 games vs top 50 RPI and are 28-13The level of competetion isn't close, and I maintain that 41 games vs top 50 compared to 12 games vs top 50 means we are more battle tested and hardened
LSU has managed to lose 4 out of 23 games vs teams with a rpi over 50. OSU lost 4 out of 43. Following your logic of top 50 rpi lsu should have less losses and OSU should have more due to more games played vs the competitions. Its baseball and using cutoffs of 50 is rediculous imo. How are you gonna say that the ones over 50 are sooo much weaker yet were able to win against lsu at nearly the same rate as those under 50.
As for calling it a grind and teams being hardened? Its not football where one team can physically wear out its opponant and make them exhausted. Its swinging pitching and fundamentels all season. No one is really more "battle tested".

I know this is late, but I would like to point out that our Admin team created a place where other fans are welcome to trash talk as much as possible... X-rated banter is quite welcome and enjoyable... I admire the modz here for keeping things how they see fit i.e. ponchovilla ... but please understand, on TigerDroppings, pretty much anything goes (except nudes)... beware all who enter... thick skin is required, but at the end of the day, it's all in good fun Anyone North of Ba Tone Ruuge is a dammmm yankee.

Somehow I think #1 nationally trumps top 4 sec Go Beavs!! Lets see how many of those top ten ranked teams are heading to Omaha... 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 so that leaves 3 Cinderellas who are playing well at the end of the season. Two of those are in our bracket in Florida State and Fullerton who were both in the top 20. So maybe the only obvious Bar-B-Q & 2 will be Texas A&M. Saturday will soon tell us weather polls know baseball.
