With the forecast for rain this evening, I'm still on the fence about trying to brave rush hour traffic to make it down there.

Sure hope we get it in. Leaving with 3 "casual Beaver fans" right now.

Not going to be anything different from most of this season, even the hail delay Wish I was going to be able to make it, but I don't think taking my grandkids on the spur of the moment would work out well.

Heavy band of rain headed towards Salem at this time, not looking good for later this evening.
Update, rain band runs McMinnville to the cascades, really pouring in Portland, 40 miles, just need to have it stop sagging south. If we were playing this in Corvallis, not as much of a risk.

Drove by Keizer at 3:00, watering down the infield, broken clouds, looked like good to go.

I drove by at about 1230 and it had a tarp on it, even though it wasn't raining. They weere taking precautions.

This game should be played at the Tonk in Hillsboro. Artificial turf, larger capacity, next door to my office.

I've never been to the Tonk for a game but I bet they have the parking situation figured out a little better than Volcano stadium. One entrance for the entire lot? We arrived around 5:00 and still missed the first pitch. That was ridiculous.

The game at Ron Tonkin last year (same day as the football scrimmage) was awesome. That field is beautiful and it's really easy to get to. Hopefully they bring back that event next year.
Never been to Volanco Stadium but I know how much of a pain it can be to navigate back to that area it's located.

In my experiences, parking has always a mess, actually walking into the stadium took forever. Understaffed at the gates, ticket windows, 1 concession open. Just a cluster... Those experiences made the novelty wear off pretty quickly, so I'd rather run over to Goss for a midweek.

He pulls every dollar he can out is the place. I'm not sure why PC keeps up these games. The infield has also taken a beating since it is now "rented" out to all sorts of youth ball levels.

I've only been there twice, but Hillsboro only has one entrance to their parking lot also correct?
I've never had a problem at Keizer, but I know to get there a little earlier than usual to avoid the mess.

We had a party of 6 there last night. Entry was atrocious with stories of 1 hour to get from Salem to a parking spot. Concession lines were long. Took 2 innings to get dogs. One of our party decided to go for nachos instead of dogs and was gone for 5 innings, and then they ran out of ingredients. I have been to multiple games there starting with our HS team playing there during spring break of 99. Couple of Volcanos games and 2 state championships games with Dallas Buck on the mound. Also 2nd Beaver game there. Last night was the worst of those experiences. Still better than the game in Surprise this year when they ran out of dogs.
