3 homeruns through 3-1/3. Just be glad that it's reached this point in game 2 of a 3 games series in which we won Game 1; and have scored 4 runs to make this game a tie rather than being in a hole; and when Thompson is up tomorrow....and with enough time left in May before post season to figure out a starting pitcher order. It's been coming for a while now, Beavs 4 worst starts have had the starting pitcher as a common denominator. Staff is deep / coaching is top notch...I suspect they've been considering various Plan B's for a while now.

has he seen his last Saturday start? Is he hurt? I know Moore fell back a bit as a soph. But this is more than a fall backward.

Drew ran into bad luck today. That oppo homer was mostly his power doing the work, and he next inning was squibbed balls, catcher interference and 1 legit base hit that gave up 2 runs. I think he looked fine and I live that they left him in to finish it.

Welp, I'm now in the start Drew Razzy camp for game 2. Not concerned when it's an opposite side shot to the shortest part of the field. Credit the hitter for that.

With the depth the Beavers have on the mound, and the elite coaching/brain-trust the Beavers have in respect to pitching, it would be a surprise if the season continues forward with the #1 team in the country having a Saturday starter that has a 4.28 ERA (5.14 in PAC 12 games). My best wishes to Fehmel the remainder of this season in whatever non-starter role the coaching staff sees fit...and more importantly, for next season as one of sever al arms that will be in the mix for a spot in the starting rotation, but I think it's time (this season) for the proverbial 'long relief' role.

Next Saturday will be an interesting decision. Britton pitched Oregon well on Tuesday but they've now seen him once. Eisert ditto Rasmussen do they deem him ready? Or is it some other unexpected move?

Taylor Starr, who stretched his OSU career over a 6 year period (age 19 to 24)....2008-2013. All-time, all-name OSU Beaver all-star team. Catcher of course would be Logan Ice.

Watching the replay twice, I sure did not see contact with mitt to bat. One big problem Drew seemed to have was that he could not command his slider. At this level one pitch isn't enough. And yes, terrible luck.

PS Drew threw 30 pitches today, so that is a step forward. Did anybody catch Pat's ingame interview last night? He seemed to almost, but then back off, say that Drew might start next weekend.

Fehmel has hit the wall... he's done a lot of good things here for a guy who was not recruited as a pitcher.
But it's laughable to throw him under the bus and and the same time watch Drew get "bad luck"? Really? If we go oppo it's great hitting. If another pitcher has a 1 pitch repertoire and his ERA rises to 6.00 he's not good/ready.
And some of us are called negative!
