Indeed. Others thought we'd roll through to the end without losing another game while crushing all opposition without mercy.

The bats were going. 5 runs with 8 left on? 10 Hits? Whoever says OSU made their average pitcher look like an All American, must have missed the 4 ER in 4.1 IP. If that's average, then every pitcher is an All American. There were a few hard hit balls that USC was able to run down by the Beavs. The offense today wasn't in a funk, and after last night, I don't believe is in a funk this weekend. Its a hell of an improvement from last week. At least when a situation of a runner on third with less than two outs came up, the Beavs delivered.
The game was lost on bullpen and defense. Not on the bats, they delivered.

Didn't the throwing error cost us 2 runs? That is fixable...

Didn't the throwing error cost us 2 runs? That is fixable... Yep. the error was costly - though it was a couple clean base hits later that the two runs scored. Also, that was sorta early in the game and well before Beavers took a late inning lead. Loss today was a team loss. So many chances, in so many respects for it to have turned out differently. Tomorrow is a new day, with the BEST Sunday starter in the Nation going for the Beavs. Win the series!

No funk. Other teams have good players, too. Sometimes you lose.

If we can win tomorrow, take our 8th straight Pac-12 series and only have a record of 6-3 over our last nine games, and call it a funk, so be it. Today I think I saw a team that was finally feeling pressure and not handling it well in the field and on the mound, if you can call giving up 5 earned runs the worst outing you have ever seen not handling pressure well. I like being spoiled rotten as a fan, had gotten used to it, don't want to give it up, but we are in the grind part of the season and no one quits when they come in to face us.

The Pac12 is not a bunch of exceptional or very good teams beating up one another. Its a bunch on mediocre teams beating each other up. I'm not sure by the end if only 4 teams make it and only one gets passed the Regional.

Obviously the rankings should be: #1 Louisville #2 Florida #3 Clemson #4 TCU #5 Kentucky #6 Auburn #7 TTech #8 MSU #9 LSU (or other SEC team #10 Georgia Tech (or other ACC team) #11-15 repeat #9 and #10 #16 uo About #19 OSU Beavers. That should put us just about where some of the fan base likes us.

Based on seeing every Pac12 team so far. RPI and such does not mean much when it comes postseason except to those guessing or picking postseason spots. This year I believe the polls to be fairly accurate... not in specific placing but in the number of teams in most leagues. OSU at the top is a no brainer for now... but you lose a series to SC or win series 2-1 over inferior teams with low scoring offense we will drop. Especially without a tourney. But, rankings are for fans. Post season potential is what I look at. Regionals will be fine IMHO. I'm a little worried about decider in a Super with how our staff looks now. Also do not like our lineup. Nick is not a leadoff guy. With the guys we have he needs to be down in the 3rd spot and mix and match the top two spots with OBA and small ball bat handlers. We have far too many Ks in 5 of the 9 typically playing

I think that team can make a tournament run but won't get in because the conference is good.
