Casey in mid season form in the 1st. After Jake Thompson walks the lead off and 2nd batter single PC takes a walk to the mound. I think we all know that wasn't a "walk". It was a straight line sprint.
Jake then K'd 3 straight hitters swinging

2 More Swinging Strikeouts and a foul out.. Nice easy inning for Thompson... On to bottom of 2nd.
Also - obscure fact: strikeout victim #1 in the 2nd was the son of Cardinals manager Mike Matheny. Victim #2 was the son of ex-MLB'er John Cangelosi. that's all I got.

He was arguing with Hank about H/E on Adley's squibber. not realizing (I believe) that Hank is the Official scorer (as home book) I keep the stats book up to see what is really happening Free Jay Bird! It *feels* from here at least - that Jake isn't missing as many bats now, working a little deeper into counts... He's now at 90 pitches. Do we know who is warming up? Should have a very rested pen today.
Edit -right on queue - enter Mulholland...
Nice job today by Jake. That's very encouraging.
