I was the original poster and want to thank you all for the excellent replies. Perhaps some clarification on my part would be of value.
When I stated that additional assistance from the AD might be of value, I was thinking in terms of providing extra $$$ for maybe an additional assistant coach who would primarily be a recruiter to ensure that the maximum effort was being given to get the recruits that Coach Scott wanted. Also perhaps be used to cover foreign countries for hidden "gems". I believe that there is a fixed limit on the number of full-time paid coaches teams are allowed to have. Otherwise, the biggest schools would simply shove 8 extra full-time recruiting assistants on every team.

I just actually looked at the last class and this class. Two five stars, three four stars and a three star player out of six signings. I wish all of our sports teams could recruit like that.

I am sure you are right about the number of assistants. However there must be some way of getting better assistant coaches since Oregon successfully "stole" a good recruiting assistant that OSU had (or at least he says he is a great recruiter)

So back to back recruiting classes ranked near the top - if not the top- best classes in WBB history, and someone says it's not good enough. Some people just can't enjoy things without being critical...

Unfortunately the NCAA has limits on the number of assistant coaches that can be on staff and which ones can contact recruits both off campus and on campus You can't just go out and load up on former head coaches and give them a title like I don't know lets call them "Analyst". Then you couldn't promote them from "Analyst" to OC for one game before they move on somewhere else. All that above would be wrong. Wiki: cheating....see Alabama

However there must be some way of getting better assistant coaches since Oregon successfully "stole" a good recruiting assistant that OSU had (or at least he says he is a great recruiter) Recruiting has only improved since this assistant coach left. With the comments from this former assistant coach since leaving, I would guess that Rueck is probably glad he is gone. This is pure speculation. This former assistant coach is definitely not very popular among those that post here.

After watching the slow motion replay of the post-game exchange of pleasantries between teams, I can tell you that it was pretty clear to me that Rueck and Campbell aren't the best of friends. After the game in Corvallis, it looked like Campbell was just staring straight ahead and barely acknowledging Rueck. Also it looked like his shoulder made contact with Rueck's, making him have to turn slightly. Rueck did a slow blink of the eyes as they were passing that seemed a bit odd.
