Tinkle has had enough losses on and off the court this season. Let's hope this isn't another one

Losing this player is more bad news for the MBB program. Bringing in two JC's that dont pan out is nearly inexcusable, and now unable to land this SMU transfer certainly does not bode well. Yes I know we have had more than our share of bad luck with academic casualties, injuries, and sudden departures. I am, and remain, a big fan of Coach Tinkle and his staff, but they have their work cut out for them in the area of recruiting this next cycle.
I am also near the opinion of red-shirting Tres now, get him healthy once again and bring him back next year as a red-shirt Sophmore. It doesn't make much sense to me to bring him back now, burn this year of his elgibility, and for what, to help us win 3, 4, maybe 5 league games ?? I believe he can still get a redshirt ( medical?) this year. Am I wrong??

I'm not going to fret about losing this guy too badly.
1) Froling averaged 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per contest
Not exactly program changing numbers there.
2) "I was hoping to play a much more significant role than the one I have here now," Froling said in a statement.
I don't think OSU needs someone who possibly sees themselves as bigger than the program at the moment.
Maybe I'm wrong and he'll turn out to be a team first, All-American for Marquette. But initial reaction, his stats and quotes took the shine off his 4 stars.

Froling has announced he is going to Marquette. Coulda used another big guy. Just curious where you're seeing this at? No mention of his commitment to Marquette on this Twitter Page. No mention of a commit (that I've seen) on Social Media. Marquette's recruiting page mentions his visit, but nothing about a commit.
Not saying you're wrong here. Just curious where you saw it was official?

Tinkle is leading us back into oblivion at a much more rapid rate than I dared dream possible. I loved the hire and the job he's done. That's why I'm so shocked and utterly deflated about where the program currently is. It's been reduced to mostly (not all) stiffs and injured cosch's sons

He barely had come back from the foot thing. B. The team needs to find more leaders. Lets find out who will be a stand up guy this year. We already know Tres is. C. This season is what it is. Next fall the rebuild begins. Start fresh.

Not a good message to send to current team or potential recruits. 1) protect the coach's kid 2) you other guys aren't good enough to compete 3) We are going to 'try' another rebuild 4) If we don't get better recruits to help us next year, we are all screwed

It seems to me that most recruits with mediocre stats at the level they play before coming to OSU have not panned out. Ronnie Stacy so far is showing that...8pts/3 rebs a game as a sophomore JC player who now doesn't seem to be a Pac 12 player.

This is my thought - and I'm trying to guess what Tres Tinkle thinks, so maybe I need to take some meds . . . saying that I'm guessing that Tres will be gone after the 18-19 season. He's developing and I think the most likely destination is the NBA. He will have a degree and he seems motivated. We all love Corvallis, but when your life is waiting, why tread water?

Tres is more Europe or Asia, or NBA D-League. IMHO.
