This win made me honestly stop and think about all that's happened in my life since we last beat the toilet seats.
I was still in grad school at OSU.
I had not yet met the girlfriend who would end up being my wife.
Birth of two great children (we've got a couple of great young Beaver fans to be proud of!)
Purchase of a house.
Two career changes, thankfully by choice and not out of need.
How crazy is that? How about you all? Have you had a chance to think of the life-changing events that have taken place in the last 8 years?
Regardless of how you feel about GA. KUDOS TO HIM AND THIS TEAM FOR BEATING THE TOILET SEATS!!!! Did you see his post-game interview? It was all about him wanting the win for the kids. I can see why the players have his back and fight so hard for him.

I'm a little more advanced in age, so not as much has changed for me but I just mentioned to my wife a couple of days ago that the last time the Beavers won the Civil War our son was only seven years old. Now he is 16, driving, picking colleges, and going to football games with me I think partially to see the college girls.
It's been way too long and this feels so, so, so good.
Go Beavs!

Unfortunately I'm at that age where years pass by so fast the past 8 years seems like 8 months.

Great question. When the Beav's last beat the ucks, I had one grand-child. I now have five beautiful grand-kiddos! My beloved Dad was still rooting for his BEAVS (He LOVED them), and he passed in '11. My youngest Son graduated from OSU in "08. My Eldest had graduated in '03. My wife and I celebrated our 39th anniversary this year. I HURT ahelluvalot more now, than I did eight years ago..;-) Beaver BASEBALL had won their SECOND National Championship a few months earlier. Haven't been that good since..sadly. The hoops team was awful. This feels real good.

Grind. Earn it. Built. Not bought. Go Beavs.

I hope my kids never have to live through another hellish streak like we endured regarding the CW.

I hope my kids never have to live through another hellish streak like we endured regarding the CW. Interesting to note that 33 years and one week ago, Oregon State ended an eight-game Oregon winning streak in the Civil War by holding the Ducks scoreless in the Toilet Bowl. 44 years and eight days ago, Oregon ended Oregon State's eight-game winning streak, by winning 30-3. Outside of those three eight-game streaks, the longest streaks are Oregon State's pair of five-game streaks from 1941-1946 and 1949-1953.

I was thinking the same last night.
- Last time we won the Civil War my wife was pregnant with our 2nd child (I hope you all appreciate that my two daughters, who grew up in Scotland, know who the Beavers are and that the *ucks are a bunch of cheaters...).
- We had just moved into our new house that we had bought, but have sold it in the meantime to buy a larger one.
- When we last won the Civil War at Reservoir Stadium we had just moved to Scotland.
- There were no iPhones and iPads, no banking crisis, Bush was still president and Blair just stepped down as the PM in the UK.
- Quite a few changes, for the better, at work happened in the last 8 years.
- It really makes you feel old.

The last time the Beavs won The Civil War, the president-elect was a RepublicanDemocrat. (Wow that was bad math.)
Just an observation and not a political statement.
Thanks Obama!
