Mike Riley did great things at OSU. He brought the program back. We went to bowl games. Lots of bowl games. His vitae is incredible. MR gets it. He's a local guy. MR went to Corvallis HS. His dad was an assistant coach for the Beavs. He understands the unique situation at OSU. MR did what he could and for the most part, he did very well. So, I wouldn't speak ill of the guy that basically pulled a program out of the dark ages. Yes. He dropped off a bit as of late but as frustrated as I was at the time, I understood that we were so lucky to have him. And some times, you hit a rough patch every now and then especially with a smaller program like the Beavs. So now we have CGA and he's a solid coach. A breath of fresh air. But...were the players under MR not tough or smart .......is what some of you are questioning/saying?! The players under CGA play harder and smarter? Smarter?? You know playing HARD but making mistakes........not gonna get you Ws ..........Hey, CGA has his kids playing hard. Heck. I even said it. And you know what? 4-8. Last I checked we still don't have many Ws under CGA. And as stated earlier, MR never pulled an ofer in pac-12 play like CGA did last year or have this horrible two year record. Recruiting. CGA is now a great recruiter? Right now, he's not. His three top recruits last year were Simi Kuli - esque. .....and his prior year's class had some of the most talented recruits going on missions and I don't think they'll ever come back. So, to me, at this time, his recruiting is a NOT GOOD. So, we'll see if he can recruit a Jacquizz Rogers, James Rogers, Sean Mannion, Canfield, Jordan Poyer, Sammy Stroughter, etc to the Beavs and DEVELOP them onto the next level - NFL. Basically, what I'm saying is MR did great things for our Beavs. And now we don't know what we have with CGA (other than some people think CGA has his players playing harder). It looks as though we're improving..........actually I know so. I hope the Beavs do great things under CGA. And still the Beavs are not bowl bound with a 4-8 record (2-10 in 2015). Under MR, the odds were that the Beavs will go bowling somewhere. The last few years were tough but, I knew MR will eventually get the Beavs bowlin' as in years past. So, CGA seems to be staked with a little more $$/support to build a program that does a little more than go to the Humanitarian Bowl or Cereal Bowl.......and heck, I'm on board. I have to be. Lets remember though that we've only just begun. ..........Carpenters song? And CGA has done a lot........maybe, but, in terms of Ws/Ls, not much. I thank MR for bringing cred to Beaver Nation. And to me, CGA has some big shoes to fill. And I hope he can do it. I want him to do it. Simi Kuli = Keysar Soze

You should follow recruiting a tad bit closer....
And pay attention to some of the true freshman who played in 2015 and 2016.
I'm referring to the "4 star" recruits in Christian Wallace and Shurod Thompson(gone to jc).......and Isaac Garcia. And from the prior year, Christian Folau (may have been a highly rated MLB) and Simi Moala (DE). Not sure if they'll come back next year from their missions. Yes. I understand that some frosh and rs frosh were forced into action this year.

Why does it seem that recruits that don't qualify and go the JC route never end up back at the school that originally recruited them?

The reason there wasn't as precipitous a drop off figure to offer up for you as there was between the 2014 and 2015 seasons is because the Andersen hiring stemmed the drop off somewhat (in season ticket renewals/sales). The gigantic drop off in advance sales of single game tickets, however, was a completely different story. You could view the individual seat availability all season (as soon as individual game tickets went on sale). You'll have to excuse me as I laugh thinking about how much "the Andersen hiring stemmed the drop-off somewhat in season ticket renewals/sales." Your cold, hard facts are certainly irrefutable.

Iowa 40- #18 Riley 10... yawn. Riley sucks get over it! #18... Funny the # of losses in just 2 years with 0 wins over a team with a winning record under GA. Best to compare when you actually have a point that doesn't make you look like a fool.

The point is, no matter how much you want to close your eyes and pretend fans were leaving in droves, they were not. Yes, they were. Droves would be an understatement. Do you know why the 2015 attendance numbers plummeted? You think those would have been better under Riley? Try the opposite. You're absolutely delusional. LOL... the opposite of what? They went way down under GA... so they'd go up if Riley stayed? Opposite of better? So attendance if MR stays would even be worse than GA? So why did year 2 under GA not significantly improve? In fact talk to those inside... donor $ are down. Luckily AD's office hours CW momentum gets things rolling. But... for all your "speculation" the numbers are staring you right in the face and you still come up just unprovable crap. What did old Mike do to you? LMAO.
