Gundy is Terrible. Play calling is HS level. A predetermined swing pattern with 10 guys with 8 yds of LOS!
No way to tell talent level when schemes are so poor. Players put in terrible situations to succeed don't have a chance to show talent.

The entire team making the same mistakes over and over again (mostly on defense) but it's a lack of talent, it can't the coaching staff. Nooo. It can't be that because that would mean that these problems won't go away. It can be both. Doesn't have to be either/or. We clearly don't have an abundance of talent. Our guys clearly aren't making plays. Plenty of blame for coaching staff, and players. I've seen plenty of programs that succeed way more due to great coaching than a high level of talent. Boise State is a good example. Even a lot of Oregon State teams. This is not the least talented OSU team I've seen by a longshot. It is one of the worst coached teams I've seen, at least on defense. The offense isn't a dumpster fire but I have a big problem with the lack of development of the passing game. I hope the coaches prove me wrong in the long run because the OSU leadership isn't going to touch this staff anytime soon. |
