New rumor is Memphis, UTSA, Tulane and USF as a package deal. Apparently they are upset that they are always relagated to ESPN+ and U.

Memphis Basketball is in the post season almost every year and their OOC schedules are packed with matchups that will lift the ratings of the entire conference.

Not my first choice to be so far east..BUT....second choice not so bad. Seems to be the trend to have cross-country conferences. Having the farther east teams will benefit when this whole cluster blows up. Swap our 'east' teams for 'their west teams'. We get back to being regional...More than just a couple years away, but I think it will happen as the burden will fall onto the non-football sports.

Just some nuggets I saw fly by today... USU apparently has a "source" that has been right about several things before, including USU joining the Pac-12, and well before events happen. Now we all know how anonymous sources work... He says Memphis is a definitive yes and we'll bring along either Tulane, UTSA, or both. (BTW, just saw UTSA's basketball facility. What the hell.) www.usufans.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=73478&start=140 - near the bottom Also, from an OSU fanboi.. Now one rumor is hogwash, but two unsubstantiated rumors from anonymous sources...well...that's a gold mine right there. Friday came and went….no Memphis. Nice try Hedberg. As soon as Friday means any day between yesterday and the heat death of the universe. So, any day now.

That and football breaking off from conference affiliations in general.

That came from some Twitter homer and when pressed, he said his proof they are upset was a couple of Twitter comments by fans. The game had to be moved to a new venue and time because of the hurricane. The time slot was already full, so they got bumped to ESPN+. I still think it's a stretch for USF to be added.

Seems pretty reputable compared to anything else I see lol

Wait... tweets are fact?! I mean all the others over the months were... right? So many just trying to be the first to break any type of news.

It was supposed to be the original six plus Memphis, Tulane, USF, and UTSA. It would make sense that a spot has disappeared, because Utah State was added. I think that the target may be 10 or maybe 12, if UNLV sobers up.

They mentioned a number, but I don't believe it. Too many people trying to hype up ether. Number of teams. I am also curious about how much money. $15-$20 million? We'll see......... Just my thinking here... I think teams total money from the conference can be around $20M when you consider NCAA credits, playoff off money and what I anticipate to be some sort of negotiated payout out from extra revenue from Pac-12 enterprises that is extra and in addition to rights from games played by the conference members (other games our studios produces, which they are actively doing and gathering up more contracts both college and pro). If we can land 3+ teams in that tourney every year and get a couple of them to the second round + that is really helpful. and even the measly G5 rate, is nearly $2M a team for the CFB playoffs. My guess is I think actual literal media itself from sports from the schools will be maybe $12 to $15M zip code and I think CW is going to make a strong bid, and it will be interesting to see if one of the major networks doesn't counter to keep them at bay. We honestly have had pretty decent numbers, and if you think about what could do with consistent advertisement, out of conference scheduling, etc, there could be some pretty darn good views for them. My thinking on that number is the what I previously heard was OSU general value, as of a couple years a go and sort of factoring us being in a more interesting and compelling conference that is a newly quite strong basketball conference. I have nothing more than kind of a gut feeling of that is about right given the universe.
