I like this idea. Davis is a well-respected university. But what about both? The two teams have been playing the Causeway Classic for nearly 70 years. We want those two glorified high school stadiums in the Pac. Some of the MWC stadiums that came with some of the new members are not much better. There are high school stadiums in Texas better than those. NO THANK YOU. Define highschool stadium. Out of the 7 "new Pac" members, our stadium only clearly beats USU and WSU for capacity. A couple of the stadiums are basically new and modern, a couple are getting a bit long in the tooth, as Reser was not all that long ago. Taking a FCS school to what most people want for our conference would take quite a bit of investment. Sac State apparently wants to. Davis potentially might have better resources and seems like a better pairing academically, but are they even casually interested, much less seriously interested? Upgrading a FCS school would not be my first choice, but money can sometimes work wonders for those who have it and are willing to spend it.

Personally, I see Sac State as a sleeping giant with about 2.2 million in the metro area. Can we afford to let some other conference take her? Hornet Stadium Putting the track around the football field screams High School.

Are you a Stanford fan? Nobody gives a s%#t about academics in their conference. Yes, it is nonsense. And as we all know, nonsense is not allowed on this board. LOL. Yep...As we all know Smails is the resident no-nonsense poster.

Hornet Stadium Putting the track around the football field screams High School. Simple solution... Beer carts and food trucks! Then it screams game day atmosphere.

Realistically, there are high school stadiums now that are nicer than Reser was 20 years ago. Nicer, but nowhere near as big as Reser.

I'd thought snagging Texas State and North Texas on top of the 3 AAC schools that the Pac wanted could be a decent way to get into Texas (if UTSA or others were uninterested) and it's major market cities. I still think if we get an eastern division, 6-7 teams would really make the travel situation more equitable for everyone.

Hornet Stadium Putting the track around the football field screams High School. When all this started I was one absolutely scoffing at the idea of adding Sac State. Not so much anymore, so long the Sac State makes the commitment it says it is making. And it's a major commitment that the local business community is backing. www.abc10.com/article/news/local/sacramento/campaign-for-sacramento-state-to-join-the-pac-12/103-1a5e1a69-626b-4b4d-bf32-f57691a5265bSac State is bulldozing Hornets stadium at seasons end and building a new one on its site. They can play hoops in the NBA arena in DT Sac. They are looking to secure $50 million for NIL. Assuming all of the above come to fruition, and the Pac is unsuccessful in adding Uconn and/or Memphis and/or Tulane...what are the options? El Paso? N. Texas? NMSU? If Sac State follows through with these commitments, and the Pac needs one more team to complete the conference requirement, I think it's a no brainer. Major TV market (biggest in Pac), super easy travel central to the conference, with a school that appears to be far more invested than some MWC programs. Lots of ifs and buts, hopefully the Pac can lock down one or two of the AAC schools, but the clock is ticking to get it done. I'm not scoffing at the idea of Sac State anymore
