Yep- Another DC kid... can't go wrong there. One thing you will notice is that our guys are very good about posting good, positive messages on the instagram pages of the recruits. When you see recruits on campus they are matched up with wrestlers and from what I have seen they do a good job of hosting these recruits. One thing that we are good at selling is a good environment with good people. Back to Travis Grace - He placed 6th at Fargo...in the early rounds he teched #6 Charlie Millard who is at Minnesota now. One down, one left to announce. Missed this earlier but a win over Charlie Millard is really good; that's an Askren trained kid

Yep - Millard is very tough. He lost to Messenbrink in the finals of state 6-4 when he was a sophomore and Mitchell was a senior. Ironically, OSU was on his list of schools.

Alex Taylor to Arizona State as a Heavyweight. Not the end of the world as we have Attao, Hastriter and Khale McDonnell coming in as most likely a heavy.

Announcement went up on IG, Anthony Mutarelli commits to the Beavs! Isn’t he the kid who got hosed over a transfer rule? Transferred to his local HS from a private school?

Yes, PIAA has done that twice recently - him and Kunstek. I honestly don't get the logic but politics gonna politic. Between the suspension and his years at Malvern; he actually hasn't even wrestled a PA state tourney yet.

Mutarelli visited last Spring... He was at Malvern and was a national prep champ at 106 his freshman year. He pinned Mack Mauger, had a close loss to Louie Gil. I think he was injured his sophomore year part way through the season. Last year at Council Rock he had some very good nationally ranked wins over O'keefe, Sement and Sheridan. Ranked #17 on Flo, but IMO should be a little higher.

Yes we can go with that one - haha.... 3 big boarders in one day. Not bad. Getting our low weights set up with depth and a strong lineup down the road. Room is very tough. Roster has to be down to 30 next year...36 on the roster now....7 seniors come off for sure, then there are a couple who will graduate but still have a year left of eligibility so that could also free up a couple spots. We have Saldate, Reyes, Davidson, Lopez, McDonnell and Mutarelli coming in next year. So we could have a little roster crunch. A good problem to have with the level of guys we have been bringing in.

Moving this out to a new thread worthy of itself.... Scottishsteel's post: 3 great CA programs and a stud from Ohio would be awesome additions! Great work by the coaches to get them on campus and Go Beavs! Here's the Rokfin blip on who the Beavs had in (Rankings are Willie's) . . . Nathan Carrillo: St. John Bosco, CA - #46 Class of 2026 Travis Grace: Gilroy, CA - #65 Class of 2026 Alex Taylor: Mount Vernon, OH - #94 Class of 2026 Blake Woodward: Buchanan, CA - #122 Class of 2026 California recruiting has been a staple of Chris Pendleton’s tenure in Corvallis and that’s not changing anytime soon. Oregon State had an impressive trio of ranked recruits from California over the weekend in Nathan Carrillo, Travis Grace, and Blake Woodward. Lightweights Nathan Carrillo and Blake Woodward were both top-three finishers in California in 2024. Grace has been a younger guy at a bigger weight and was eighth at 157 lbs last year. Both Carrillo and Grace have high Fargo finishes under their belts. In addition to the California crew, Oregon State also hosted Ohio’s Alex Taylor. Taylor is a 2024 double champion from Fargo in the 16U division. Looks like Carrillo has also committed now so that's 3 of these 4 all landed as Beavs - not bad not bad at all

Carillo is a very good get for the Beavs. He has some very good wins. He is a Bosco kid which has close ties to ASU... to get him is big in recruiting.

Rokfin write up
"Last week was incredible for Oregon State from a recruiting standpoint. Chris Pendleton’s team got three verbal commitments, two from the Class of 2026 and one from the current senior class. Each was from a member of the Big Board and two were of the top-100 variety.
On Tuesday morning, Oregon State continued their hot recruiting streak with a verbal from Nathan Carrillo (St. John Bosco, CA) the #46 overall recruit in the Class of 2026.
With Carrillo’s commitment, Oregon State joins NC State as the only school’s with three commitments from the Class of 2026. All three of Oregon State’s are from Big Boarder’s and two are from the top-100.
Carrillo is a two-time California state qualifier and he medaled for the first time in 2024 after making the 120 lb state finals.
In addition to his state finish, Carrillo has plenty of national-level credentials. He finished third in freestyle at the UWW U17 Trials in 2022 and third in 16U freestyle in Fargo, later that same year. At California’s signature event, the Doc Buchanan Invitational, Carrillo was fifth in 2023 and fourth this January.
Carrillo is currently ranked seventh in the nation at 120 lbs and has registered to compete at that weight class at the Super 32.
It looks like Carrillo will be a 125/133 lb prospect at the next level. While Oregon State has plenty of young talent in that range currently on the roster or as a part of the Class of 2025, you can’t have enough potential 125’s.
In addition to Oregon State, Carrillo also visited Arizona State. "
