Twitter rumor is that the Pac is negotiating with the MWC - the MWC reduces the exit fees and in return the Pac doesn't take UNLV, etc.. for the foreseeable future.
And the Pac uses the money saved to pay exit fees for Memphis, Tulane, UTSA, and USF.
The new Pac-12 would be ten teams: OSU, WSU, BSU, FSU, SDSU, CSU, UTSA, Tulane, Memphis, USF.

Somebody will have to figure out how that works with 8 conference games. Seems like when the 10 team pac did it with 8 conference games you just missed a home home series with one team...but SC missed the home home's with uo (when they were a lousy no phil team), OSU and WSU more often. If you count CSU as in the east group it becomes balanced and each west team rotates thru missing one east team home and home. Not sure how CSU would feel about being in the east group.

Unlv, Calford, and maybe Air Force to go with CSU? Not a fan of the far away teams being included.

Alternating each for a quality, close, winnable NC game is perfect. Even if OSU traveled 2 of 3... love those roadies.

Playing UTSA and USF every season would give them more exposure to those recruiting hotbeds. I wouldn't feel bad if I were a CSU fan.

Stanford and Cal (or any other of the 10 departing traitors) are not coming back in the foreseeable future. Or even in the unforeseeable future, for that matter. Nor does the Big 12 have any interest in us and Wazzu, in the foreseeable future. Or even in the unforeseeable future, for that matter.

FSU and Clemson have supposedly spent tens of millions of dollars fighting them. I looked it up the other day, low estimate for exit fees was 400 million per school, high estimate was 575 million. Looks like the ACC breakup probably isn't happening. Stanford and Cal are basically stuck until 2036 unless the conference exit rules change. Ironically, the Big 10 has no exit fees.... but their payout is so high the schools have little financial incentive to leave, at least for now.

So why UTSA? Why not Texas State?

Yeah. I'd rather pay the higher exit fee, suck it up and take Nevada along with them. Grab the likes of Memphis, Tulane, UTSA and USF to go along with UNLV and Nevada.

So why UTSA? Why not Texas State? UTSA is about to merge with their version of OHSU. Suposed to inject a ton of money and prestige into their University. And I believe their athletic budget is already bigger.

I think Big-12 had interest in just us... it was WSU they didn't want, and I think we are tied at the hip... Ergo they don't have interest in the pair. There is no universe Stanford and Cal are coming back and the ACC collapse looks dimmer by the day, unless something goes totally sideways with this revenue share renegotiation.
