Holy moly, the cops did a terrrrriiiiiibbbblllleee job, they are supposed to de-escalate, they escalated at every turn. The delays to commands were seconds. The cops lost their sh!!!t and should be fired. The one cop was trying to de-escalate with the d-lineman and it was easily working and then the hothead cop comes out of the back of the pack and escalates it with him. I just don't see what you guys are watching. For a start how about Hill keep his window rolled down and quit playing games. Window stays down, ticket issued, everyone goes on their merry way. But no Hill decided to play games. And telling the cops to stop knocking on my window. Dumb. Unnecessary.

To resolve this issue here is what should happen shoukd Hill ever be in this situation again. Hill should roll up his window. When the officer taps on the window Hill should ignore it. When the cop asks Hill to get out of the car Hill should ignore it. The officer should again politely ask Hill to get out of the car. If after this does not persuade Hill to follow orders then they should just let him go his merry way. Certain people expect certain privilege when they are due none.
Thought it was funny that Hill was telling the cops to watch his knee because he just had surgery. Wonder if he says the same to the defensive backs.

First, this situation has nothing to do with anything Hill did in the past. Second, there's now an idea among many people in this country that you don't have to acknowledge directions or commands by police officers. Neither Hill nor Campbell did what they were told. Third, the police escalated to an extent, but let's be honest, nobody was tazed or hit with nightsticks. This whole thing is a little overblown IMO.

I think it's interesting how people can look at the same thing and draw opposite conclusions.

I think it's interesting how people can look at the same thing and draw opposite conclusions. Or assume, if what you see is different, that it is political in nature...... Not everything is political....drives me nuts.

So he should’ve been just able to reckless driveand not follow police instructions because he’s a pro athlete? He didn’t follow instructions and the cops overreacted. I see fault on both sides. But, firing them because they didn’t know he was a Dolphin player would be stupid and just would encourage pro athletes to think they are above the law. Many of them already do. This is dubious logic at best. Hill deserves a ticket. Of course. he did not deserve four cops shouting conflicting orders at him and to be drug out of his car and handcuffed. I want to be clear. My future son in law is a cop. He is a city police officer in Oregon. I do not hate police in any way, shape or form. But police MUST be held to extremely high standards and this behavior is patently unacceptable. Police have the power to take away your liberty, your freedom and your life at any moment. With that incredible power MUST come incredible responsibility and scrutiny. We cannot, absolutely cannot, as a society, ever become so complacent and blasé as to turn a blind eye to injustices committed by those in power. As the old cliche goes: absolute power corrupts absolutely. Cops have absolute power to the extent we allow them to have it. And making excuses for assholes like this guy gives them absolute power. They will only grow more bold and more corrupt until you slap them down and keep them in line. I get it is hard, basically borderline impossible job. But the stakes really are just that high. We can't just hand wave away violations of our rights and liberties. These are freedoms we won in the blood of many of our forefathers. Not everyone deserves to be a cop. Good cops should be elevated and celebrated. Paid well. Bad cops should be held accountable. It boggles my mind this is such a controversial opinion, but here we are. I agree with...some of what you wrote. But I find like most things now a days, everyone wants to take it to an extreme. They should be held to higher standards than most people. It seems like many people, however, just want an excuse to find to label them all as bad cops. Is it any wonder that PDX has dozens and dozens (sometimes hundreds) of open positions that they can never fill? It's because so many of the city's residents want to demonize police en masse. Then when there aren't enough cops, people blame them for "purposefully slowing down work" and that they aren't responding just to "teach the citizens a lesson". Like why in the ever living heck would any person want to take that job AND have the fun of dealing with any number of weirdos pointing guns at them? This is the problem is that most people don't understand there might be good cops and bad cops, they want to lump them all in one bucket. And even if you do understand good cops / bad cops (I mean, who hasn't watched Lethal Weapon?) then you'd know that some of it is scenario-based and perception, not always reality. These are humans we're talking about, not perfect robots (coming in 2031), they will make mistakes. I really don't think these cops were the epitome of corrupt, liberty-denying fascists, so I think Florida might recover. If one cop in the group was an idiot, then put him in training (if he hasn't already been there) and if he does it again, suspend them, then fire them. But fire the whole group? Ridiculous. And frankly, I would never expect cops to know that someone is a celebrity and even if they did, I would HOPE they would treat them like every other citizen and not give them special treatment.

My prediction when this all shakes out. Based non the bodycam footage.
1. No officers will be fired or reprimanded. No apology will be extended. 2. A civil lawsuit may be brought but will ultimately be dropped. 3. 6 months from now this silly dust-up will have been completely forgotten.

Would hurt his brand, even after the game he was talking about how he loves the cops, may want to be a cop when he retires, and he just didn't understand how it went from 0 to 60 so fast (funny, since he was driving a mclaren). I'm thinking additional training is it, not likely anyone to get fired, but a couple of em sure deserve it.

Not sure he's a great candidate for police officer, based on his history of violence, and skating by because of his athletic ability. Cops in Superbad is how I imagine Tyreek thinks it would be.....

Except for the parties involved, this will disappear from the public consciousness in two weeks. I finally watched the video. Big deal. Sports stars acting like sports stars expecting to be handled with kid gloves. Cops acting like cops, barking commands like a machine gun. The first cop involved, the one who knocked on the window, did a good job, I thought. Some of the others had gotten a bit riled up in my opinion.

In order for comedy to be good, it needs to be based in truth. That video by Chris is gold!

What a sad commentary it is that a person's first instinct when they get pulled over by the police is to call his agent/enabler. Calling out "Drew! Drew!"
Pathetic.
