Too many people in this society EXPECT cops to be more than they are and ACCEPT others being less then they are.

Let’s start with the first reason, they are directly outside the stadium 2 hours before a game, 3 very expensive cars with very large men get involved in the stop and not one cop is smart enough to figure out they are dealing with the whole Dolphins team. Fire them just for complete lack of situational awareness. The second reason, every single opportunity they had to de-escalate the situation they did the exact opposite and escalated it. Hill kept trying to de-escalate….just write me my ticket, etc, and they weren’t having it. Third reason, hand tattoos on the cop. This cop is trying to intimidate the public as soon as he shows up, gotta show the gangsters that he is more gangster. Just unprofessional bs. Experience has shown that once they are fired, another city will hire them, so what’s the point? Too many cops are ex military and they struggle to see the public not as the enemy but as people to be served.

Part the whole window isssue is that I’m 99.9% sure that his window tint was so dark (illegally so) they couldn’t see in the car. Hard to say if it was legal tint or not as FL law is 25% of light pass through which is pretty dark. But agreed the reason to require window down is for safety of the police and the driver. Hill didn't comply with the window requirement or the get out of the car requirement when told to do so (also required in FL). So.....maybe if he did do when told to do so it would wouldn't had escalated to the point it did?

The more I watch the video the more I side with the cops. If Hill kept his window down I'm betting he gets a ticket and nothing more happens. If Hill had gotten out of the car as requested and not argued and delayed the orders then I'm betting he is maybe handcuffed but nothing more. To portray Hill as a victim is just plain dumb.

Holy moly, the cops did a terrrrriiiiiibbbblllleee job, they are supposed to de-escalate, they escalated at every turn. The delays to commands were seconds. The cops lost their sh!!!t and should be fired. The one cop was trying to de-escalate with the d-lineman and it was easily working and then the hothead cop comes out of the back of the pack and escalates it with him. I just don't see what you guys are watching.

But no Hill decided to play games.

But no Hill decided to play games. Many lawyers recommend to their clients to keep the window up. In Oregon and many states it is legal to keep the window up :"In Oregon, you are not legally required to roll down your window during a traffic stop without a warrant, unless you need to provide identifying information or insurance. However, some recommend rolling down both windows and turning on the interior light when pulled over." Judgesmails pointed out that in Florida you do have to roll the window down, obviously out of staters are going to miss that nuance. Rolling your window down gives the police a chance to literally sniff your car...if they smell the bourbon that was spilt from a broken bottle that morning they have probable cause. Tyreek was on the phone with Drew Rosenhaus most of the time, Drew maybe recommended to him to keep the window up or it was something Tyreek had picked up along the way (if you smoke weed, it is common practice to keep the windows up during a traffic stop fwiw).

Simple solution. Don't drink or smoke weed in your car.

But, is it legal to disobey a cop's order? Can I see your drivers license? Keep your window rolled down. Get out of the car.?? Failure to not allow a cop to see what you are doing with your hands, is certainly a way to escalate a situation in a hurry.

Tyreek is a piece of s%#t human being.....let's just get that straight. Take a look at his history.
Dude was driving recklessly, did not comply with police, and acted like an asshole in general. Refused to put his tinted window down.....police have been shot in these kinds of scenarios. They want to go home to their family, first, and foremost.
We have enabled people like Tyreek Hill to feel he is above the law. The fact is, he's really good at football, and he's done some horrible things that he's made "go away" because of his talent.......the situation that happened was a direct result of the enabling.

The irony of the the OP calling for the police to get fired......yet Tyreek makes millions of dollars to play a game, when he's a woman, and child abuser.

Don’t dismiss THIS little tidbit. Cops aren’t divine. Some are pure s%#t. No better than the pos, Hill.

So he should’ve been just able to reckless driveand not follow police instructions because he’s a pro athlete? He didn’t follow instructions and the cops overreacted. I see fault on both sides. But, firing them because they didn’t know he was a Dolphin player would be stupid and just would encourage pro athletes to think they are above the law. Many of them already do. This is dubious logic at best. Hill deserves a ticket. Of course. he did not deserve four cops shouting conflicting orders at him and to be drug out of his car and handcuffed. I want to be clear. My future son in law is a cop. He is a city police officer in Oregon. I do not hate police in any way, shape or form. But police MUST be held to extremely high standards and this behavior is patently unacceptable. Police have the power to take away your liberty, your freedom and your life at any moment. With that incredible power MUST come incredible responsibility and scrutiny. We cannot, absolutely cannot, as a society, ever become so complacent and blasé as to turn a blind eye to injustices committed by those in power. As the old cliche goes: absolute power corrupts absolutely. Cops have absolute power to the extent we allow them to have it. And making excuses for assholes like this guy gives them absolute power. They will only grow more bold and more corrupt until you slap them down and keep them in line. I get it is hard, basically borderline impossible job. But the stakes really are just that high. We can't just hand wave away violations of our rights and liberties. These are freedoms we won in the blood of many of our forefathers. Not everyone deserves to be a cop. Good cops should be elevated and celebrated. Paid well. Bad cops should be held accountable. It boggles my mind this is such a controversial opinion, but here we are.
