The spin from the MWC and their dim witted commissioner is absolutely hilarious. The fact of the matter is WSU and OSU do NOT need the mediocre MW. There are other conferences and programs more willing to schedule the PAC 2 for ‘25. Good luck MWC. When we land in a P4 or rebuild the PAC back into one, even your best schools will wish they could have joined. I mean, I think this is exactly why the spin is there. they know their leverage is poor and the threat of being plundered is real. She is doing everything GK SHOULD of done as a commissioner, everything in her power to secure the future of her conference for the wellbeing of everyone. She was trying to negotiate a deal that prevented future plundering, or brought in more money, or gave more security to the small guys. The betting odds are still favoring OSU/WSU rebuild the Pac using the majority of the strongest MWC. She knows this. it is the reality she is fighting. We all want that P4 invite, but that is the outside chance we are hoping for. Where exactly are these "betting odds?"

I think the Pac-12 wanting a scheduling alliance with the Big 12 or ACC or putting together an independent schedule with P4 schools points far more to an intent to become P4 schools. That is not going to happen if they rebuild the Pac-12. But I definitely could see a rebuild happening as opposed to the Pac-12 joining the MWC if all other potential options fall through.

Absolutely. It also points to just wanting to be on TV with games that people will watch.

If the Pac 12 rebuilds with the best teams, I think they have to include Fresno State. If for no other reason to provide a rival to SDSU. But Fresno State has been, for the most part, a solid program for quite some time. My top four would be SDS, Boise, Fresno, UNLV. Next four CS, Wyoming, Air Force, and UNR, I guess. It's tough to get beyond 7. NM? SJSU? UH? USU? No. The five most obvious are Boise, Colorado State, Fresno, San Diego State, and UNLV. Boise and UNLV's biggest historical conference rivals are both Nevada. Colorado State's biggest rival is Wyoming. Fresno and San Diego State's biggest rivals are each other. Air Force is the next most-obvious add. Air Force's two biggest rivals are Colorado State and Wyoming. That gets you to 10, which is preferable, because it gives you the opportunity to play a conference championship game. If you could sub out Wyoming for San Jose State or Utah State, that would probably be preferable, because the media markets for both are larger. New Mexico is preferable to Hawai'i Wyoming, if we get down that far down the rabbit hole. But you would need Air Force and Colorado State to go along. I am still not so sure that Air Force does not join the American Athletic Conference in the next round of realignments. I'd add SJSU if we don't get Cal and/or Stanford

I think I think you need to prioritize SJSU as the sixth team to make a core 8 (with OSU and WSU). Bay Area is just too rich of a TV spot. And on the off chance they get good (and they have flirted with it). It isn't just the school themselves it is the future potential and eyes that could be on the TV. You have to think of the TV markets you are operating in. Pac-12 (8?) needs to say they have the Bay area. they NEED to. They can say they have a with those teams, they have a presence in every major western TV market except LA and Salt Lake. That is a good place to negotiate from.

It would probably be better with Salt Lake, if that is at all possible. Utah produces the 21st-most recruits in the country, as well, fifth-most per capita.

If you get Stanford and Cal, then OSU, WSU, Stanford, Cal, SDSU, Boise State, UNLV and Fresno State. If you don't, then OSU, WSU, SDSU, Boise St., UNLV, Fresno State, UTSA and Tulane. If a power conference was looking to add a few MWC schools, those would be the top four and it would not be close after that.

I would probably get to 10 in any instance, so you can put on a Conference Championship Game. I also think that several on here underrate Colorado State. Air Force can also be a big draw.

If we are P5 and have auto berth then championship game is good, if we are G6 and fighting for the 1 g6 spot, then I would not be as interested in a championship game, it would be another opportunity for your highest ranked team to take a loss, and not much upside on a win.
