I think I read that over half their starters are portal guys as is todays starter. It's the new norm...so no biggie They still have to play the game and win as a team. If it isn't umpires it's always some excuse on this board. OSU was embarrassed... too many aspects to even begin to discuss. Let's see if they have any maturity and come out tomorrow ready to play.

They were stymied at the plate and had one really bad inning on defense. The game got away from them. The only way to guarantee not getting beat badly in game one of the Super Regional is to never make it to a Super Regional.

The only way to guarantee not getting beat badly in game one of the Super Regional is to never make it to a Super Regional. You call it now you want. But, if you are only chasing 3 runs and the relievers you choose can't throw competitive pitches (Ferguson was TERRIBLE), you randomly pitch hit to sub weaker defensive players, you give up 7 runs on 2 hits... as a national seed... embarrassing. BTW their pitcher(s) caused none of that. A 3-0 loss would be tough, but not embarrassing. But, you do you.

National seeds are 1 through 8, who get home field throughout the playoffs. That's not us. Going into Kentucky and winning is a tall order. Being three runs down at that point in the game, in a three game series impacted the decisions. No reason in the end to negatively impact a Sunday game.

Sorry, but that was a terrible performance all the way around! Yea, flush it but they only used 1 bullpen pitcher so we have an uphill battle. Need a jem from Kmatz tomorrow or we're toast. I thought May pitched a gutty performance. Yea, I agree but he has under performed last couple starts. I'm hoping he'll have the chance to turn it around but it looks like he, unfortunately, doesn't handle the pressure too well. Need more of that bulldog mentality!

Tomorrow’s game will start 0-0. Hopefully a different version of the Beavers shows up. Throw this one away and start fresh. Still 2 wins from Omaha. and 1 loss from the portal floodgates I wish everybody would quit fixating on the stupid portal and what might happen? We all act like we are the only program in America affected by it. Especially in baseball, for heck’s sake! We’re a PREMIER program! Whatever happens happens. Why the pearl clutching now? Forget about it!

Being at the game, I just didn't see "embarrassed". Embarrassed, to me is a lack of effort, or quitting. If anything I thought they were pressing at the plate tonight. Trying to hard. Career Hall of Famers have almost all been guilty of that in a big game more than once. Having a fairly knowledgeable and supportive fan base ie..Bennys House throw them under the bus is a bit much.

Tomorrow Carraway or Jabin? Krieg or Guerra? Trosky. He's a great defender. Don't pull Trosky because he didn't get a hit. If you're doing that, then you have to pull Bazz, MMD, and Turley, all who legitimately should have gotten hits.
Guerra looked good on first today.
Smith behind the plate.

As soon as Smith wasn't in the game Kentucky started running. 1st pitch with a runner on they swiped 2nd. They didn't try to run on Smith once. I know the MO has been to go with Smith with May pitching and Weber otherwise, but I would go with Smith behind the plate myself.

Just finished watching on DVR. Even down 3-0 seemed like too much to overcome. We did not show up at the plate at all. And then the wheels fell off in the 7th. Hopefully a better effort tomorrow, but damn we better bring it, cuz we sure didn't today.

And while Weber was able to throw one out at second, He struggled behind the plate. I wonder if that was due to the lesser-used pitchers taking the mound....Or was it just the pressure?

Bazzana's been kind of quiet since UCI. Sure hope he finds his groove again.
