I have to work in Albany this morning, so I'm hoping to be done and heading to the game by noon. I was hoping to grab a ticket at the tix office, but if anyone needs to get rid of one let me know. I'll gladly pay for it.

I was there. It was definitely wet but no wetter at the time the game was suspended than it was for most of the game. Pansy as_ NCAA umpires😜 The rain was increasing, and the conditions were getting worse each minute. I, too, have seen some games that were arguably worse conditions, but they were regular season games. The NCAA's decision was made in tournament conditions, with far more than a regular season record on the line. Given that, the players were going to be paying less attention to the conditions than their effort to achieve an outcome, so the NCAA called it in the name of safety. More courageous and upstanding to suspend the game than pansy-arsed, if you ask me. Lighten up. It's gonna work out just fine, and everyone's going to walk away intact. Looks like the emoji at the end didn’t convey sarcasm to you

I think the game stoppage was a good thing for us. Even though we are at home and our mascot is a Beaver, the rain definitely was a net positive for the Eaters. Their 4 runs were directly tied to the weather and the walks by Segura. Aside from the 3 run shot, the Eaters were woefully late on Segura's fastball whenever he happened to sneak one over the plate. Macias almost slides into left field past second base for an out that wouldn't have happened and probably cost us a run. Even though we have a propensity to hit batters, Segura's HBP was for sure a result of a wet baseball. Given our sometimes defensive struggles the odds of other weather induced errors likely (if not statistically) would have impacted us more. Aside from the best past ball ever and 6 walks (one more than us believe it or not) the Eaters got by pretty well.

Not a WP to the net? Not to mention both 3-run HRs were grooved BP fastballs. When a pitcher has no feel, command of location is not only conducive to being wild, but wild in the zone and lesser spun rate & velocity. The entire 3+ innings were effected.

We had 6 runs on 6 hits, they had 4 runs on 2 hits. Just sayin Actually you were "saying" UCI runs were due to the weather, Segura was affected. Surprise... the weather affected both teams. And if you want to be "real" it affected UCI more. How many of these type weather games do you think they played all year? OSU? As a couple players said afterward... "built in home field advantage". My son said Kmatz mentioned the same thing in his interview.

All I was trying to say was I was surprised it didn't help us more. I think Segura would have been very difficult on them if it wasn't raining and he was throwing strikes. At the same time I think we would have been successful against their arms rain or shine. It may have been the fact that Segura was not getting many pitches over the plate but go back and look at the video and tell me how many fast balls they weren't very late on except the home run. I agree it should be a built in home field advantage, I just didn't see it that way last night.

ESPN+ works for me. At $10.99 a month you get all the games, plus any replays you want to watch.(Good for scouting opponents)
