totally. There's no way anybody is throwing at anybody at this point, not sure why they seem to feel there's anything deliberate about these pitches. Nobody thinks people are throwing at batters, except some drunk dudes around me. And one on this board.

Parker on radio saying ‘I don’t know what the problem is, we play through this type of weather all the time “. The Beavers have played thru rain but not as consistently hard as it was after two innings. I can't blame the UCI coach for wanting to suspend the game. It wasn't like it rained hard for a few minutes then let up. It stayed around. I think this favors the Beavers.

Parker is speculating that after that last hit batter with a ball thrown behind him, that UCI's coach was making a case that it's unsafe to continue playing. Both Parker and Wilson are flabbergasted, and are claiming that Beavs have played through far worse conditions at Goss before... Yet they think Segura is just walking people, hitting one, not close to the plate on 60% of his pitches because he's off??

That ball did not get away from uci pitcher.....that was intentional Yeah... cuz down one, in must win game, you want to plunk the leadoff hitter! FFS It's so wet you can't hold a coffee cup here. Umps only mistake was allowing play to go this long. Saw the replay a couple times. Looked intentional to me, and Micah thought so too.

It would be interesting to hear from regulars at the game about the conditions. Is it really bad, or is UCI and the NCAA rep afraid of a little rain?

You save that for meaningless situations.

After the last HBP it was the plate ump that stopped play. NCAA site rep and crew go thru delay protocols, procedures, and situation. Both coaches could have begged for play or not to... they have no control in the matter.

They were already in the middle of swapping arms every 1-2 innings, just trying to cobble innings together, and Wilson said he was feeling like we'd land at least 10-12 runs on these guys. Now they'll get a chance to regroup, gain some more arms back, and we might have a more traditional game flow tomorrow. I still think we're well-positioned with our pitching in a more 'normal' environment, but this delay let the Anteaters get up off the mat.... If the worst happens, and we lose 2 games and the regional, I would definitely point to this delay as a major factor for that....

You save that for meaningless situations. It looked like that's where he was throwing.... And uncharacteristic for McDowell to chirp like that. I think he knew

There were more pitches to the backstop in 3+ innings than a LL game. Those weren't intentional either.

Wilson is making a case that with the extra day, that you "start" Keljo, and ride him as long as you can. His recent outings have been fantastic, and we could ride him tomorrow much more than we could have today.... Not a bad choice. AJ scheduled for game 2 if necessary. See, I would just throw AJ at lunch. Hopefully, he gets into the Holmes/Keljo range. If things go sidewise, you still have Hunter for Game Two with hopefully Holmes and Keljo. And you may have several innings of May (four tops), if things go completely sideways.

Wilson thinks they'll go with Keljo (and were going to in the next inning tonight).

The players safety comes #1 not OSU's advantage or disadvantage due to a delay. If you can't finish off this game or the 2nd if needed it's not the delay that caused it. If you attend regularly "cold" is not a factor in a delay scenario. But, this is by far the wettest, most consistently hard rain I've ever seen a game played it at Goss. Probably cuz any other "regular season" would have never started.
