Obviously I have not been paying careful enough attention to this site.
What in the world has happened to Caraway (sp?). I thought he was supposed to be back playing quite awhile ago?

Lying to us like they did with Luke Musgrave.
●Worse injury than they're wanting to admit? ●Re-injured? ●He already decided to Portal, so they're not playing him? ●Other?

Plus any of those or other causes does not mean they are "lying", smfh. We don't really have any right to know anyway. It felt like part of the delay was waiting/wanting/hoping for Guerra to break out of his slump (which he sort of did with his game winning HR) and of course after a long layoff you have no idea how Caraway will play, so that could be a cause for delay as well, waiting for him to hit well in BP or practice.

To clarify.
"He's had a minor setback"
"He's working his way through some issues"
"He's momentarily unable to compete"
"He is day to day"
Oh the joy of being a Beaver fan!

I don't even worry about injury timelines anymore, especially with the baseball program. You just never know, and it's not worth worrying about.

Lying to us like they did with Luke Musgrave. ●Worse injury than they're wanting to admit? ●Re-injured? ●He already decided to Portal, so they're not playing him? ●Other? If they player doesn't want his medical information/status made public, there's not a damn thing a coach can do about it. Despite what a lot of people here think, fans have no "right" to receive medical information on an individual if he/she wants to keep it private. From what I understand, Musgrave was healthy enough to play by midseason, or shortly thereafter. He decided not to, to remain healthy to enhance his draft status. Smith covered for him and did not throw him under the bus by saying "he's healthy, but doesn't want to play."

Your top 2 could be a possibility, the third no so much. Even if he signaled he wants to leave, he could change his mind. Furthermore, the Beavs and Caraway are looking to make a run right now. You think he (or us) would sacrifice one of his and our three chances at that success just because of a potential transfer after the season?

My only concern stems from a comment he made about a week ago to the Oregonian.
“I’m staying as of right now,” freshman third baseman Trent Caraway said. “And I’ve talked to other guys, like, to kind of see where other people are at and all that stuff, and they seem pretty locked in, too.”
Everyone else sounds 100% dedicated. Turley is staying, I would bet my house on that. He loves OSU and his words speak volumes to his commitments to the university and baseball program. Just listen to how he talks about OSU in his most recent interview a day or two ago.
Caraway saying, “I’m staying as of right now” does not make me comfortable. We never know what his injury has done to him mentally/emotionally. I love his demeanor, he is a gamer, and he absolutely loves coach Canham. Is that enough to keep him here for one more year? Who knows? I do know he chose OSU over a lot of money and over a lot of other schools.
If we can keep our core together, our lineup will remain incredibly dangerous next year (Macias, Trosky, Krieg, Turley, Caraway, Weber, Reeder, who knows about Guerra after his struggles this year).

Wait... so your interpretation of... “I’m staying as of right now" makes you uncomfortable. But, "...they seem pretty locked in...", includes Turley I'm guessing, makes everyone else "100% dedicated"?? Pray tell... how is "pretty locked in" mean anything close to "100% dedicated"? Yet Caraway is the one you doubt...

Yet Caraway is the one you doubt... I would say my concern is based off what the others said, compared to Caraway saying, “I’m staying as of right now.” Personally, if I was 100% certain I was staying, I would use different wording. Again, listen to Turkey talk, I’m very confident with the way he speaks that he is staying.
