We are now up to 12. Sure feels like a National seed is in play at moment. Probably need to sweep unless there's help from others around us. RPI in the 10-12 range it's certainly possible. If we end the season on a 12 game win streak though then we can take all the guesswork out of it Why 12? Regional 3 Super 2 CWS 5 Total 10
12 is a loss in the second game of the Pac-12 Tournament but then a win in the Pac-12 Semifinal and Championship Game.

"End the season" as in before the NCAA's... "12"... as in WSU, Zags, UCLA x3, Zona x3, Pac12 tourney 4-0 Was my interpretation?!

Obviously would love for it to be 22 games instead!

Shows how silly RPI is when people (including the committee) care about a couple of spots....Oregon State, Virginia, Oklahoma and Alabama are all basically tied, we are on top of the group but a CSUN loss tomorrow vs USSB drops us to 13 without anything else happening just in front of Alabama. Silly, but is what it is. RPI is awful. But there are worse metrics. RPI is meant to be an end of the season metric, rather than a game-by-game metric. You look back at the end of the season to see what each team accomplished. All the opponent wins and losses wash out at the end. I still like Massey Ratings. Oregon State rated #8. That seems to be the most accurate measure of team strength. That said, even Massey ranks Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas A&M 1-5. The top of the SEC is so stupid strong this year. Oregon State is then in the upper end of the seas of ACC teams ranked 6-12. Then Irvine. Then Oklahoma State. And then the second tier of SEC teams begins.

Florida is a .500 team with a horrible conference record. It lost to St. John's, Stetson, UCF, St. Mary's, Jacksonville ... They are not good this year. Period. Yet some of the talking heads say they are in if they manage to finish over .500, even if it is by one or two games. The SEC bias is unbelievable.

The SEC bias is horrible but............Here are the National Champions since 2017 2023 LSU defeated Florida 2022 Ole Miss defeated Oklahoma 2021 Mississippi St defeated Vanderbilt 2020 Cancelled due to Covid. 2019 Vanderbilt defeated Michigan 2018 Oregon St defeated Arkansas 2017 Florida defeated LSU This has a lot to do why there is a SEC bias.

Florida needs to finish two games above .500 to finish the season, 3-1 or 4-2 or better. Short of there, it is hard to see it. They need to split with Georgia here, or they are likely out without an SEC Championship, regardless of talking head nonsense.

No one is saying their top teams aren't among the best. They clearly are. But that doesn't mean the bottom five are good. It's like football. The fact that Georgia, Alabama and LSU are good doesn't make Vanderbilt or South Carolina a powerhouse. Michael Jackson was an amazing talent. That didn't mean the rest of the Jackson 5 were just as good.

It is a fully-functioning self-fulfilling prophecy. It's biased toward SEC teams, and SEC teams take advantage of the bias. 2019 Mississippi State hosting Stanford for absolutely no good reason and won. And then Vandy got the Championship Series by beating up on two trashy SEC teams, including Mississippi State, who each had not business being there.

They get favorable home field advantage in the regionals and super regionals, which means more teams to Omaha.

I 100% agree with your point on SEC teams outside the top four, receiving favorable treatment because they play in the SEC.

All I was saying is it's odd that Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama so good and the usual sec baseball blue bloods are down.

All I was saying is it's odd that Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama so good and the usual sec baseball blue bloods are down. Alabama is in the bottom half of the conference. The Tide need to split; otherwise, they may not make the Tournament. They have a high RPI but are not doing well. Georgia is currently in fifth in the SEC. There is a chance that they still get squeezed out of a top eight seed. They have a silly high RPI and have been very hot as of late, though. Kentucky was good last year. Oregon State would have played in Lexington had Oregon State not blown the lead in the first game against LSU in Baton Rouge.
