I get this is a stupid message board but looking back through this year it’s hilarious how much we have overreacted to certain scenarios. Kasper goes down and people step up to fill that roll. When he comes back the negative nellys say “oh we don’t need him, he’s been terrible”, based off a couple bad games. Shocker he came back got healthy enough and has been huge for us the last couple weeks. Then McDowell goes down after Texas as well for a while but we continue to win so it’s not a total freak out. Still you’re losing one of your two best hitters from a production standpoint. The pitching begins to flounder a little but we continue to score runs. Then we lose Caraway and it really shows without those three in the lineup against USC and some other not great losses. Caraway also a top 4 bat in the lineup from a statistical and production standpoint. We battle, the pitching scuffles, we’re in a funk. Fast forward to Washington State we finally get some juice going again. Then really get it back against UCLA. This team is trending in the right direction and I’ve been saying it from the start this team has been and will always be better with those three on the field. Not only from a production standpoint but just an overall mentality. The depth has always been there but those 3 protected guys in the lineup including Bazzana. Heck I think it even protected Guerra before they started to go down. Fairly amazing that we’ve been able to stay an across the board top 10 team with injury’s like that. We are almost fully healthy. Let’s keep the good times going in AZ!

I'm not sure what you're looking for with this post other than calling some posters on here stupid for overreacting.
I'll play devil's advocate a bit.
Big picture..
We have a 7-9 record on the road. We have played very sloppy on defense. Pitching staff has been inconsistent. Our vaunted lineup disappears at times, especially on the road. Our gaudy numbers have come back to earth, as they usually do in conference play. Zona's staff is likely the best staff we will have faced in a 3 game series, up this point.
It is nice to be heading to zona mostly healthy. We are going to need all hands on deck. The best lineup (OSU) vs the best pitching staff (zona) in the conference. Unfortunately, it's in Tucson. But, if OSU is to be an Omaha team this year, gotta be able to go on the road and win a tough series against a ranked conference opponent. I'd like to see some quality starts by our rotation, and a solid bullpen. I'd like to see limited errors. If we mash the ball, great! But I would like to see this team play cleaner baseball.

I loved watching us mash lately but should I be hesitant to feel the team has rebounded by piling runs on the two bottom teams in the conference?

I believe OSU can go down to UA and win this series. And there is some reason for optimism with how we have been playing the last few weeks, along with being dang near full health now. With that being said, I’m not very confident in us winning down there. Not only have we been a different team on the road this year, but recent history also tells us that we struggle down there, even with some good Beaver teams.
I’m not that concerned about our offense. I think we continue to perform on that side, even with a good UA pitching staff. Where I get really worried is with our pitching. We have got mashed down there more times than I can count over the last handful of years. Last year, we let up over ten runs in all three games against ASU. And we all know how many runs we have surrendered to opponents at the pac 12 tourney.

I think a point made in the OP is, we have been a different team for much of the season without three starters in the lineup. We seemed to do ok on the road down in Texas, with the exception of May leaving the Arky game early, and we still competed to the final out with a chance to take a game on a night Arky's starting pitcher was lights out. Essentially about 2 months worth of games were decided without 3 of our opening weekend starters available. We are a different team with them in the lineup so looking at what our road record is without them involved in that road record, doesn't translate imo to what we are with them back.

Those are good points, and I do agree with them. But the Beavs will have to prove to me that they can win a big series on the road, especially considering we are back to full strength for the most part. No excuses now. This is basically postseason baseball at this point, so I’m excited to see what we bring to UA. Again, I believe we can win this series, I just don’t feel confident about it.

It is a valid point. The OP fell flat for me with the run on paragraph, and condescending tone. McDowell is the 2nd most important position player on the team. All he does is produce at the plate, and play a solid center field.

I would have thought the knocks would have been on my takes rather than a run on paragraph with spelling mistakes. Got to find something to complain about on the message board I guess lol.

Not calling anyone stupid for overreacting. It’s part of being a fan base. I just think we pushed the panic button multiple times and for the most part we ended up being a fairly decent position. Imagine Texas A&M without Braden Montgomery, Jace Laviolette, and Gavin Grahovac. From a production standpoint for our team that’s what we lost over the course of months. And I think it affected the whole team from a confidence standpoint as well. Arizona will be a big test. Should be a lot of fun to follow along!

If you had posted this prior to the Wazzu breakout game, then maybe there would be some value to it. But it's awfully easy to say we overreacted after having (seemingly) done away with the cold streak.
Also, I don't think it was overreacting; I saw it more as venting frustrations and fears. We all knew that the team had the capability to be special this year. But they were showing us that they weren't so special at all....Or maybe more precisely that they still need some polishing.

I would have thought the knocks would have been on my takes rather than a run on paragraph with spelling mistakes. Got to find something to complain about on the message board I guess lol. The things you mention inhibit your ability to get your point across, as valid as it may (or may not) be. Few things are more indecipherable than a solid block of text. This is 100% more readable. Even with a healthy lineup all season and a much better road record, this series would still look daunting given our track record down there over the years. It certainly looks to be a big challenge to win 2 let alone 3. I think it will take a little luck along with high level play to win 3.
