I believe zona only has to win one against us to win the conference. If they win the conference they will host. Huge series. This will definitely be the first time in a while that the top 2 PAC12 teams are not both at-least top 16 in the national rankings. I can’t see the committee penalizing us that much if we take the series but AZ wins the conference. We are way better from a non-conference standpoint. I think the committee learned their lesson from going off of solely RPI.

You can only hope. RPI is obviously broken as a sole metric.

Overall SOS: OSU 74 Zona 34 NC RPI: OSU 5 Zona 28 NC SOS: OSU 51 Zona 1 Vs Q1/Q2:OSU 8-9 Zona 16-11 % of total: 33.3% 54% Q3/Q4 games: OSU 34/51 66.7% Zona 23/50 46% Last time I checked OSU's NC opponents were a +51 games over .500. A quick look I believe Zona's opponents are +105 games over .500. OSU was damn fortunate to get the Texas invite/games or some of those #s could be really ugly. No question in my mind no matter how the next week+ plays out... 1) OSU is in every way deserving a Top 16 hosting spot; 2) OSU is in no way a Top 8 seed no matter what the subjective rankings said all season.

NC RPI. What do I win? Unfortunately NC RPI is as much a joke as anything. Tatm has the #2 RPI and #1 NC RPI. They were 25-0 in NC against the 119 NC SOS. This will shock no one but the SEC teams typically have weak NC SOS and it doesn't matter at all.

This will shock no one but the SEC teams typically have weak NC SOS and it doesn't matter at all. Here's a fun fact... tx a&m has one Q1 non-con win (Texas) and one Q2 non-con win (TX State)... all of their other Q1 and Q2 games are against sec... Our non-con Q1 record is 1-2 and non-con Q2 record is 3-0... At least the selection committee changed how the quadrants are defined and do have the KPI rankings available too (new this year) and have stated they don't want a replay of last year... Right now there is a log jam at the RPI 11-18 (separated by approx 100 RPI points) which will all be sorted out after this weekend and in order to get to a #8 RPI, we'd need to win out and get some help. Current RPI projections have us ending up in the 11/12 spot going into P12 tourney play...

Massey has good baseball rankings, but they are not provided to the Committee.

Just keep winning and don’t give ESPN/SEC owned NCAA any reason to step over our Beavs.

I think that Oregon State needs to do something to justify being selected ahead of Arizona. If that is a series win, it is a series win. If it is getting to the Pac-12 Championship Game, it is getting to the Pac-12 Championship Game.

We've won 6 in a row, and scored 83 runs in those 6 games. We have clinched the series against a ranked team on the road, outscoring them 25-3 in the 2 games. We have an overall record of 41-12, and we are currently the only PAC 12 team with fewer than 10 losses in conference. You guys really think numbers like that are way less important than RPI? And, by the way, our RPI doesn't stink.

And, by the way, our RPI doesn't stink. You make decent points. But, those same points show why the Pac12 is rated the 6th best conference. Hammering the supposed 2nd best team in their home park means OSU is coming on strong. But, I wish the two wins were somewhat better games and not let the committee have any excuses. OSU definitely hosts. Need to win out... and Top 8 should be there.

Committee will look positively on a PAC12 regular season championship. Gotta make a run in Scottsdale as well. There’s a chance.

Committee will look positively on a PAC12 regular season championship. Gotta make a run in Scottsdale as well. There’s a chance. The Utah AD (on the committee) who was on during the Arizona/Utah series essentially stated his vote for a Pac-12 host and potential top 8 came down to a regular season championship over a performance in the conference tournament. TBD if the rest of the committee views things the same way.
