Game 3 against hole might have gone completely different had we not started out with two quick errors, and down 2-0 in the first. Burk mentioned that as well......not a good way to start, and the whole teams seemed flat from there on out. Doubtful it would have went any different when we only got 2 hits. We have some mentally weak players if that's all it takes for them to not hit. Well these are kids, and it's baseball. They looked mentally defeated on Sunday. Tip your cap to the quack pitcher, and team in general, but we started off sloppy, and we never recovered.

They are highly trained and experienced young men. As stated if a couple Es flummoxed a team with 9 innings of at bats remaining you must have no post season expectations for these guys. Playing (3) games over 3 days with isn't something new. Elite HS and college players have played summers with 20+ more games than in OSU's Feb-May/June. Sunday sucked. But, whether it's Oregon or ?? opponents have talent too. This OSU team is inconsistent/streaky and it's not because they're "kids".

Wow, a game where a couple of pitchers stymie our hitters and people think it's all broken. Just need a good slump buster

We played sloppy in the field, and it did not help our freshman starter.....my concern is we've had too many of those kinds of games, and that's going to keep us from getting to Omaha. I think the ability is there. I'm not sure we have the mental toughness right now to grind it out.....and yes, they are still kids, and baseball is a very mental game....these kids are still learning the mental part of the game.....read the article about Kwan if you want to see what it's like on the mental side. Reminds me of the 2014 team. And I realize this team, and that one were constructed different. #1 national seed, but I remember feeling like they were very vulnerable. iirc, Conforto had been cold at the plate, and the team overall just seemed to not be hitting on all cylinders. Lost the regional to a gritty Irvine team. All im saying is this team feels like that to me right now.

These players are "kids". They are literally 18 years old......I mean Mundt could probly be some or the freshmen's dad!....but I digress. Be interesting to see who would call em "kids" when someone is being too critical but then refer to them as "finely honed baseball machines" when it's convenient to the argument.

I understand the team coming out flat a few times in the course of a long season, but flat for a duck game ? Flat against your most hated rival. To me it’s another sign of the detached nature of the approach to the games this team reflects

I believe that Levi Jones is the only 18-year-old. Everyone else is at least 19.

The obvious problem for both Caraway and MicahM is the rust factor. Batting practice for a significant hand injury or oblique injury is limited and then to face pitchers in mid-season form is tough. Kasper finally had some good swings again after many games. Every game now is essentially a must-win game for a real shot at hosting so rehab games aren’t present.

Short of there, your guess is as good as mine. Weird things can always mess up those "probablys" up above.

Wow, a game where a couple of pitchers stymie our hitters and people think it's all broken. Just need a good slump buster If that's what this is, then I understand your shock and disappointment with the fanbase. But it isn't. It's compounded by the loss on Sunday and the very weak hitting that only through the grace of two of the best pitching performances all year got us a couple wins. The hitting slump has been contagious and persistent. I, for one, don't think it's all broken, but it isn't a finely tuned engine either. And this team seems to lack the resiliency/maturity to respond well to a loss/weak performance. I keep waiting for that spark to show because I know the talent is there. They have to approach the game like they did at the start of the year. I think they are getting cooked by the pressure. They have to let it all go and just go out like it's a new game at the start of the year. Everybody is equal. No win streaks, no losing streaks. No slumps and no streaks. Just relax and play ball.

I believe that Levi Jones is the only 18-year-old. Everyone else is at least 19. Splitting hairs anyway you look at it. To say they aren't kids is ridiculous! I've heard plenty of stories of guys in the baseball program acting like a "college kid."......now, are they dialed on the diamond? Sure, for the most part. They are D1 athletes. Are they as dialed as a guy in the minors, or bigs? No, they are not. The point I was trying to make is these guys are young, and they have growing to do, typically both physically, and mentally.

We’re arguing if college kids are kids or adults? Guess we all gotta find something to argue about lol. I’ll join the side that thinks college kids are still “kids”.
