I think it’s safe to say we just aren’t the team everyone expected coming into the year. Not enough pitching, clearly. I’m not trying to be a downer, just trying to evaluate this team since the USC series. I think we will be a 15-25 ranked team by the end of the year. Really disappointing to have this be a reality right now, but I can’t come to any other conclusion at this point. Some of my disappointment comes from expectations, and maybe they were just too high to begin with. I agreed that won’t get to Omaha with this pitching staff and poor defense with way too many errors. Disappointing season, not sure how they won 30 games, just overrated.  |

This team just isn't good on the road. Might end up hosting a regional, but not a super. I don't see them going on the road and winning a super

Maybe not a super on the road but you have to win 3 games to win a regional, and we simply don't have the arms for that right now. We at least have a puncher's chance at a super if we can win the games May and Kmatz pitch. |

This Beaver team has 0 confidence or swagger right now from the looks of it. Start of the season they had the look and feel of killers. I don’t know if it has been the injuries or what but man they need to rally here. As much as they made mistakes and all that at the beginning of the season there was just that feeling like no one is gonna beat us. Now it looks like we are holding on for dear life. I again will reiterate how I think certain guys affect the vibe of this team. My thought since the beginning of the season has always been that the energy guys are Bazzana, McDowell, and Caraway. Could be wrong but I know MC has talked a lot specifically about Bazzana with his leadership and Caraway with his infectious energy. Pitching I feel fed off that energy to a certain extent as well. Latterly I felt brings some steadiness and leadership to the pitchers as well. It’s gut check time going forward. Got to imagine the guys are pissed. Let’s use that to our advantage.

13-3 is pretty close to a lock on a top eight national seed. The Beavs have used up most of their mulligans but still have a couple left. It's ugly right now, but it ain't over.

I hear “ swing decision, “ launch angle “ , “tunneling” and “pitch shaping “ and I think it’s all bull crap, save that stuff for fall ball. All this talk about Omaha blah, blah, playing like we are currently, Omaha is light years away!! Chances of getting to a Super - 20%, we are/were totally overrated and it's becoming apparent to our competition. It looks like other teams are on to our pitching, or lack of, and they're loving it, sit back, wait for a grooved FB, or an error, walk, or HBP, and they're home free. Can't imagine the angst in the clubhouse. Better get the heads out and just play baseball today or it could get uglier. Frustrating game..........who knows, new day, maybe they wake up and play like they're capable, we can hope. |

Scouting reports are out. Adjustments need to be made. Cal struggles with offspeed. However you need to throw the FB for strikes to get hitters aggressive. Holmes the last 2 nights you can see. They aren’t looking fastball and just sitting on slider. Book is out make adjustments

Cal Bears won the game scoring 3 runs on only 1 hit (a single), with only 1 out, and still had the bases loaded. I'd rank that as being was worse than:
a.) 99% of what is on display annually in Williamsport (Little League WS).
or b.) the pungent smell of rotten fish. |
